- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2016I didn't know that this was a refurbished product when i bought it. It was missing the dvd to install the program to upload pictures. Fortunately there was a nice letter stating that i can go online and get the program there. I did come with batteries so i tried it as soon as i got it. The camera works fine, picture is clear, so i have nothing negative to say about the camera itself. The fault ismine of course for not reading the description stating it was refurbished. No big deal of course.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2017This is a good first camera for my nephew. It is not too expensive but gets him excited about taking pictures. I wish it had image stabilization especially for a kid. It is no DSLR but the pictures are decent considering the price I paid. It is good for its purpose, but it is not a camera I would use myself.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2016This camera works fine for my needs. It is a simple camera. The one thing I do not like is that it does not have a rechargeable battery - it requires 2 AA batteries. Also, it did not come with a cable to download the photos. Luckily I had a cable from a previous camera that works for this one otherwise I would have had to order one.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2016Not particularly happy with this camera. The vendor was fine. I received exactly what I ordered but the camera is not so great. I have had probably 30 cameras from the lower end coolpix family from the L16 on up to the current L32 so I am not comparing this to $150 camera much less a $1000 camera. The L31 has a tough time focusing and the majority of my images come out blurry. I am inspector so I take roughly 150 images a day and overall I am not impressed. I thought I could save few dollars on the 31 as opposed to the 32 but I have already ordered the 32 again and will keep the 31 as an "emergency" back up camera. Buy the L32 instead. Why do I like the L33 you ask- it take AA batteries. You don't have to fiddle with chargers and you always find AA batteries. I use a Flashlight with AA batteries so it's easy to just keep plenty of these batteries on hand. It's cheap so if it gets wet, crack the display, mess up the lens etc it's not the end of the world. Other than the L31, this line of cameras takes really good low light images. Many other more expensive cameras use a different focusing system that doesn't work as well in low light situations. The L32 takes good picture in near dark areas as long as the flag can light it up...say out to 10'. It's not fancy with wifi or Bluetooth but the near universal SD card has never failed me again, you can get that at any convenience store if you forget the card at home or lose etc.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2016I purchased the refurbished model of this camera to use it during my travel, and not to bother with chargers as I could be in different countries.
I could not click more than 3 pics in AUTO mode with a new set of AA Energizer brand Alkaline batteries. I tried to use Rechargeable AA , and other brands of AA but the story is same, Camera displays "the battery is empty" and shuts off.
I am disappointed with the fact that I couldn't take any pictures during my travel.
It was put on sale before fully refurbished.
Definitely not the way to do a business.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2016I bought this to replace an older model of the same line I'd had for years. I cracked the old one's view screen by carrying it in the same pocket as my pocket knife while in a bicycle ride. I've tried several point and shoots over the years including some very recent Canon and highly rated Panasonic models but the Nikon took the best images. I specifically wanted to uses AA batteries and would have preferred a through the liens viewfinder like the Canon Powershot A1400 but the Nikon just takes better images. The new camera came in 2 business days. Some reviews complain of no cable but mine had the full complement of accessories. It looks new. The controls are easy to get to and it can be used one handed. Have not had it long enough to tell about durability or battery life but the guts appear to be the same as my old Coolpix so expect them to be good.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2017This is not a fancy camera but it serves my purposes perfectly. Easy to use and the pictures come out great. The shipper was amazing and sent the camera next day air at no extra charge. Very happy with my purchase.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2016It was OK. Kind of disappointed in the quality of the pictures, but it was easy to operate and very compact, which is what I was looking for. Doubt I will use it very often. Cell phone seemed to take better quality of pics.
