AMC has set Tuesday, August 23 for the third season premiere of its period drama Halt and Catch Fire, about the rise of the PC industry in the 1980s It will debut with back-to-back episodes at 9 PM, then will air in its regular time slot of 10 PM beginning Tuesday, August 30.
The series has been a modest ratings performer, but a solid DVR gainer. It was renewed in October with co-creators and writers Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers tapped as new showrunners. They succeed Jonathan Lisco, who ran the show for the first two seasons.
Season 3 picks up in March 1986 when Mutiny leaves Texas for the big leagues of Silicon Valley. Founders Cameron Howe (Mackenzie Davis) and Donna Clark (Kerry Bishé) search for the idea that will launch Mutiny as a player, but new collaborators test their partnership. Scott McNairy, Lee Pace, and Toby Huss also star, and Annabeth Gish and Manish Dayal are set to recur in Season 3.
