Melatrol Review – Key To Goodnight Sleep?
Melatrol is a natural sleep aid that promises to help you fall asleep more quickly and get a healthy, restful sleep all night long. It’s available online at a price of around $50 per bottle. Here’s our review.
What is Melatrol?
Melatrol is a nutritional supplement that claims to use natural ingredients to help you fall asleep. It’s designed to treat occasional sleeplessness without giving you a “hungover” feeling in the morning.
Just like with many natural sleep aids sold online, Melatrol uses melatonin as its primary ingredient. Melatonin is naturally produced by our bodies when we’re ready to fall asleep. However, there’s no established scientific consensus on whether or not melatonin actually works when taken orally.
Nevertheless, many people take melatonin nightly to help themselves fall asleep more easily and wake up feeling energized. Melatrol promises to help you do exactly that in a convenient, easy-to-take nutritional supplement.
How Does Melatrol Work?
Melatrol promises to provide the following benefits at helping you fall asleep:
- Helps maintain healthy sleep cycles
- Drug free solution
- Relieves daily stress and anxiety
- Proven to help you relax and wake up feeling energized
In order to achieve these benefits, Melatrol uses melatonin “and other natural ingredients”. You have to do a bit of digging before you find out exactly what those ingredients are. However, once you find the ingredients label, this is what you’ll see:
- 25mg of 5-HTP
- 3mg of Melatonin
- 1302mg of a Proprietary Blend containing Valerian Root, Gamma Amino Butyric Acid, Rhodiola Rosea Extract, and Passion Flower Extract
Melatonin and 5-HTP are both backed by a decent amount of science. The remaining botanical extracts and GABA, however, are not backed by the same amount of science. Yes, they’ve been traditionally used as natural sleep aids. However, they haven’t demonstrated much effectiveness in modern scientific testing.
The 3mg dose of melatonin is about what you expect to see in a sleep aid. Sleep aids typically contain between 2mg and 10mg of melatonin per serving. Keep in mind that the amounts listed above are for two capsules of Melatrol (there are 60 capsules in each container).
Ultimately, the ingredients in Melatrol aren’t anything unique: you can find similar botanical extracts mixed with melatonin in a variety of other nutritional supplements sold as sleep aids. Let’s take a look at the pricing details to find out if Melatrol is worth your money.
Melatrol Pricing
Melatrol is available at three different rates, including all of the following:
- 1 Bottle: $49.95 + $6.95 Shipping
- 3 Bottles: $99.90
- 5 Bottles: $149.85
Clearly, this pricing system is designed to push you into buying three or five bottles. At the 5 bottle rate, $30 is a fair price to pay for a melatonin sleep aid supplement. However, paying $57 for Melatrol at the single-bottle rate is too high of a price to pay – it’s just way too much higher than virtually every other sleep aid supplement on the market.
You can pay using any major credit card. All purchases come with a 100% money back guarantee. The makers of Melatrol don’t go into great detail about how that guarantee works, unfortunately.
Note: the Melatrol sales page makes a few mentions of a “trial” package, although we couldn’t’ find any further details about this trial. If you do see a trial offer, be sure to read the terms and conditions thoroughly to avoid falling victim to an autoship trial scam.
Who Makes Melatrol?
Melatrol was made by a company named Pacific 298 Ltd. That company was founded in 2002 and, according to its About page, is “a trusted name in health and beauty” and is “dedicated to providing safe and effective products that help people supplement their lives.”
You can get in touch with Pacific 298 Ltd by calling (818) 303-9260.
Should You Use Melatrol to Help You Fall Asleep at Night?
Melatonin supplements can be found on Amazon for around $10 for a large supply. Melatrol, at its cheapest rate, is priced at around $30. If you buy just one bottle at a time, you’ll be charged a whopping $56. That’s a lot of money for one melatonin supplement.
Melatrol mixes melatonin with a wide range of other botanical extracts – including valerian root and GABA – that may help you fall asleep more easily and enhance the effects of melatonin.
Unfortunately, Melatrol has never been independently studied to reinforce its sleep aid effects. So we don’t necessarily know it works as advertised. However, based on the ingredients listed, Melatrol should help you fall asleep more easily – although it’s still priced way higher than most other sleep aids on the market.
