Amazon Prime Day 2016 – Will It Be Better Than the Last One?

Amazon Prime Day 2016 – Will It Be Better Than the Last One
On July 12, 2016, Amazon launches its second prime day with over 100,000 deals within a 24-hour period and staggered every 5 minutes. Amazon Prime Day deals are only for prime members. But don’t worry, you can try prime membership for 30 days free, you just have to register, and Amazon promises you can cancel anytime.

Deals are available to prime members in Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. There are more than 50 million members in the US alone. The big question, however, is ‘Will it be better than the last one?’

Amazon Prime Day 2016 – Will It Be Better Than the Last One - 2015
A lot of customers were disappointed with the first prime day on July 15th last year. I personally thought it wasn’t as good as Black Friday, sellers were mostly clearing out their inventory, and Amazon was pushing its own products too much . However, 47000 televisions and 34.4 million items sold worldwide in one day should say it all.

What to expect from Prime Day 2016:
  1. Five-day period of pre-Prime Day sales, each day offering deals until the big day on July 12.
  2. Lightning Deals and Deals of the Day – same as last year. Prime Day begins at midnight on July 12.
  3. Over 100,000 deals available worldwide. Double the amount of television deals which it probably is safe to assume at least 100000 units in stock.
  4. What we really hope and expect from Prime Day are deals that really matter, not another clearance sale. This is also an opportune time to look out for better school necessities deals since next month’s back-to-school seasonsale may not be as good as Prime Day.
  5. Competition. Walmart also offers specials deals starting on July 1. In addition, they will also offer 30-day free trial of ShippingPass (it’s like prime but $50 cheaper). ShippingPass members get an extra month free. Now this is good news for consumers. More competition, more deals, sure win for consumers.

Prime Day 2016 is going to be bigger and better than last year.
