I was pleasantly surprised by this story. I don't know what I was thinking going into it but at the end, I definitely felt like I had read "more". This is a second chance romance. Before Kenna joins the Marines, she and Griffin are together. When she realizes she is at a crossroads and that Griffin is not at the same place she moves forward with her life and searches for a way to make it meaningful to her. She finds that and gains a purpose and a best friend when she joins the Marines. After tragic event happens, she is having trouble coping with the aftermath and finds her way to something that helped her deal with her emotions in her past: BDSM, more specifically the bondage and submission aspects of the lifestyle. Her old club is partially owned by her former love Griffin, who unbeknownst to her had some regrets regarding their past. I really enjoyed the transitions between these two as they dealt with their unresolved past and moved forward with some big differences to how they once were. Kenna's strength and development were admirable as she did not settle into a dependency. Griffin experienced some growth while separated from Kenna but you can see his love shine through once they reunite. He handled the differences in Kenna like a champ. These two together were insanely hot. My interest was definitely peaked and you will find me anxiously awaiting the next story. Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing while they are together now, though in the past H had continued to scene with OW at times and the h had not liked it. Her first time seeing him again, he is already in a scene w OW but it doesn't happen again. There is exhibitionism during some of the H/h bondage sessions. No rape or abuse.

Well researched second chance romance story with BDSM elements.
H/h were casual play partners for some time at a BDSM club, the H was a great Dom and good to the h and she fell for him. H rejected her - H cared about h, but didn't want a committed relationship with h. At this point h is depressed and lost as her parents are pressuring her to join law school which she hates, h was searching for something meaningful in her life. Now that H wasn't for her, she decided to try being a Marine and found her calling. She loves being a Marine but loses her team and BFF in an IED explosion in Afganistan.
Now retired and an amputee, h suffers from phantom pains, survivors guilt, insomnia and realises BDSM may help her. So she tries her old Dom in her old club and they get together.
I had a problem with this: Commitment-phobic H's are not for me and this guy indirectly caused her to lose her hand. I wanted h to find some other Dom to take care of her.
Also the H says he realised he messed up and went after the h few weeks after he rejected h. All he did was drive by her apartment once - h had moved out and changed her cell number. Beyond that H didn't do anything not even hire a PI to find h. H's best friend was a cop -don't say he couldn't find her! He got some token tattoo to remind himself of h and went on his merry way playing around and sleeping with subs in his club for years while its implied h was in Afganistan and by default pretty much celibate:( Also it was the h who finally went in search of the guy and even then H is putting a performance on stage with another sub:((
Several things were admirable and different about the book - heroine who was a Marine, an amputee h, also stuff about Shibari, veteran stuff, PTSD etc was very well researched. But the H was just not man enough for me and I wished the h had found someone else who would have done right by her every single time.

4 stars for the well researched and unusual themes,
3.5 stars for the romance

Laura Kaye has bound readers to submit to her newest erotic BDSM romance series,Blasphemy. As my much anticipated read, Laura Kaye has kicked off the first installment, Bound to Submit with so much passion, sensuality, and raw emotions. While this book had so many sexual undertones, Kaye also beautifully weaves the elements of love, forgiveness and second chances in such a sensitive and beautiful manner.

photo fb136e54cde4a668aea89f4e781e45_zpsnvzl2kee.gif “For a long moment, he drank her in and made sure his head was screwed on right for whatever was about to happen between them. Because he couldn’t screw this up with her. Not again. He would never forgive himself, not that he ever had for letting her go the first time.”

Five years ago, Kenna Sloane said goodbye to her old life and also to the man who broke her heart. When Kenna confessed her love to Master Griffin, he couldn’t return the love that she was searching for and so, Kenna left Baltimore to pursue her new career in the Marines. Now five years later, Kenna is missing an arm due to an IED explosion that also killed her friends. Guilt ridden over the death of her friend, Kenna carries a sense of burden and feels lost emotionally. So when Kenna decides to go back to the sex club, she is then reunited with Master Griffin.

#BoundToSubmit

Master Griffin has only regretted one thing and that is letting go, Kenna. And so when he got his second chance with her, Griffin makes it known to Kenna that he is not letting her go again. And this time, he will prove to her that she is bound to his heart, soul, mind, and body. Will Griffin be able to show Kenna that they are bound to forever?

photo fb136e54cde4a668aea89f4e781e45_zpsnvzl2kee.gif “Tell me you want me to take care of you, to give you everything you need.”

Bound To Submit is a beautifully and erotically charged romance that was an absolute gem. Laura Kaye allowed readers to see and feel a tangible love that was meant to be. Kenna and Master Griffin’s time apart allowed them individually to discover the matters of the heart. It allowed them to see what was missing in their life. And for Master Griffin, it was always Kenna Sloane. So if you are looking for a romance that was full of heart, sensuality, and hot erotic BDSM scenes then this book is definitely for you.

3.5* the one that got away STARS!

My first read from Laura Kaye and I'm intrigued with her new series contains BDSM. I read quite a lot BDSM from various authors and I hope this isn't some wanna-be. Honestly, I didn't read the blurb and I found this is a second-chance love story. Beautiful and intense. Worth to read.

Kenna Sloane has lost her best friend and right forearm in her Marine's duty. Came back with PTSD, Kenna barely functional. She seems happy, but the truth she's blaming herself. Never crossed her mind to going back to Blasphemy, a BDSM club she visited five years ago. Griffin Hudson must be in dream when he saw the woman who haunted his dream. Griffin wouldn't make the same mistakes again with Kenna's in his arms right now.
“I’m not sure you realize what you’re getting into with me, Kenna. Because I’ve missed the hell out of making you come.”
“Oh, God,”
“God can’t save you. Not from me. Not tonight.”

This is a very beautiful BDSM story that I wouldn't dream of. Yes, I have high expectation but I never imagined the heroine, Kenna is the one whose having PTSD and nightmares (usually the man). She's really strong and independent woman. I simply adored her. BDSM became her distraction especially with Griffin as her Dominant. Back with Griffin is like a dream especially with what happened in the past.

Griffin himself is a changed man. He's more mature and careful. He's start to threading careful with the new Kenna. Both interest in Shibari really amazed me with how much they're trusting each other. Kenna is never with another man beside him. They're starting to open up their feelings. Trust and honesty. Griffin always support Kenna no matters what. He loves her.
“You ready to be bound to me?”
“Yes, Griffin. Make me yours. Tie me to you in every way you can,”
description

Beside their intimate love story, I still didn't forget the BDSM scenes. Mostly involved rope but still sex after that. Cough. It was intense also amazing. Kenna and Griffin already into each other. Their chemistry felt so real. My only problem is something just didn't click me enough to feel more. Too structured? Too tame? Maybe. But such a captivating read and definitely recommended. I couldn't wait for the other Masters from Blasphemy club.

4 1/2 "Well, it made me happy." Stars!

So... well, I'll start by saying this may not actually be quite a 5 stars read, but I really liked it a lot, it made me happy and I'm feeling generous.

First thing that made me say hummm... this might be good was, the h, Kenna was a female Marine that was injured in Afghanistan. For me, that was different. I hadn't ever read about a female soldier returning home after combat. I'm very happy LK wrote a story about a female soldier.

Ok, so anyway (I keep getting distracted) I loved Kenna. Her issues seemed real and completely valid to me. She was a fighter and sincerely wanted to be in a better head space as well as physical condition. I loved that she took steps she thought she needed in order to get to those better places. I LOVED Griffin! He was a total and complete Dominant but he was so so sweet and respectful toward Kenna; and proud of her service and accomplishments. I fell head over hills for him. They had some issues that could have dragged the story down, but they both handled them in a mature way. They came together and communicated openly! Loved it!

Another thing I loved about this story was Kenna's sister Sierra. She was the best sister ever. Her love, understanding, and support for Kenna was simply touching. Just how I would hope my sister would be in a similar situation. Or how I hope I'd be myself.

Oh yeah! Kinda important... This story was hot! Hot! HOT! I really wish I could see photos of their "scenes". Not the actual sex, just the rope work ;-). That may sound kinda pervy, but it was described so very beautifully in the book. I'd like to see it.

Anywho. Overall, I loved it! It was just what I was hoping for with this book. LK very rarely disappoints me. I can't wait for the next in the series. I hope it's Quinton, or those Navy boys Johnathan and Cruse or Leo or whoever! Happy reading!

PS. The fact that this series is BDSM, called Blasphemy, and the club is in a renovated church is all VERY taboo to me... just a touch of guilt. Tons of pleasure ;-)

Kenna and Griffin had been in a Dom/sub relationship for nearly a year when she confessed she'd fallen in love with him. Griffin wasn't ready for a serious long term relationship so feeling hurt and rejected Kenna decided to move on with her life by joining the Marines. Griffin regretted letting Kenna walk out of his life almost immediately but by the time he decided to fight for her she'd already gone and she'd left him no way to get in contact. Now, five years later, Kenna has returned but she's not the same woman she once was. She's scarred both physically and emotionally after an IED attack took her arm and the life of her best friend. Kenna is back in Baltimore but she's floundering and desperately in need of a way to take back control of her life, she's missed being a submissive so she returns to Blasphemy looking to let off steam. When Griffin sees Kenna walk through the door he knows he's been given a second chance with the one woman he could never forget but she's not quite as willing to open her heart to him this time around so he's going to have to earn her trust the hard way.

I knew I was going to love this new series as soon as I read Hard to Serve but oh boy the heat has ramped up in this book and Bound to Submit was off the charts awesome! I absolutely can't wait to meet all the other Masters properly and find out what all their kinks are and I'm really, REALLY hoping that all 12 of them are going to get their own books. You can't beat a second chance romance, there's something about reconnecting with an old love that I find really appealing and I love unravelling the history between two characters and seeing just how well they fit together. Kenna and Griffin have both changed since they first met but even though their pieces now connect to form a slightly different picture they're still a perfect match.

Kenna has been through so much and she's understandably traumatised by everything that has happened to her. She's closed herself off from the people she loves while trying to carry the huge burden of her emotional distress alone and you can see how much it is weighing on her and affecting every aspect of her life. I loved that she found a way to get out of her own head even if it was just for the time she spent with Griffin at the club and I thought Laura Kaye did a brilliant job of showing how much of an impact that had on her. What I appreciated the most was that sex or love didn't automatically fix her, she still had to work at putting herself back together but Griffin helped her get into a better head space to deal with everything. Kenna was just such an incredibly brave woman and she's so easy to relate to and root for.

Griffin was the perfect Dom, he knew exactly when and how to take control of the situation with Kenna in the club but he didn't just want a submissive he also wanted a life partner who was his equal in every way. I loved that he pushed Kenna but didn't overwhelm her, he just supported her and gave her everything she needed from him. Griffin was also willing to own up to the mistakes he made and fight to win her love for a second time. It definitely didn't hurt that the chemistry between them was scorching and if you've ever had even the slightest interest in Shibari Rope Bondage (and if you haven't before then you definitely will after reading this!) you'll love the scenes between these two. It was incredibly erotic picturing the art Griffin created on Kenna's body using well placed ropes and knotwork.

We also got to know a few of the other Masters a little better and I honestly can't decide whose story I'm most looking forward to. It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that Laura Kaye is creating what is sure to be another favourite series of mine since I've loved all of her books for years now but she really does seem to continually push herself and grow as an author and I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us.

I'll just leave this review with a few of the teaser graphics that I was sent for the Bound to Submit blog tour, they should give you a good idea about what to expect from this story and it really is one you don't want to miss.

1.5 Noooo no no.

I really didn't like this one. I dunno why, but the characters got on my nerve so freakin' bad!

And the sex scenes were awful, I skipped all of them! And the rest of the book I skimmed. I just couldn't do it!
Why 1.5 stars? It was short. I finished it fast (although well, I did skim a lot, so that might be it).

All in all, I wouldn't recommend this one.

So this review should have been done a while ago and I apologize for the lateness of it. I really tried to get it done before now, but I had trouble getting my reviews done lately, but here it is now.

So where do I start this review because I must say that I got hooked on it from the first lines. Kenna is a character that went through a lot in the Marines and while trying to share her experiences with other people through speeches, she has yet to deal with her own emotions and turmoils these events caused her.

Kenna's character was in way so relatable in a non-conventional way if I may say. She went through a great deal of pain and she is suffering from it, trying to move on with her life, but she has barely taken two steps forwards that she takes two back. This happens to a lot of people and those who try to deal with these traumas will often turn to something that once helped them or try something new. She went back to a time that helped her in hopes it would bring her some peace; which in this case was the BDSM club where she got her heart broken by her Dom.

Griffin hates that he lost the woman he loves many years ago because he wasn't able to realize quickly what she meant for him. Seeing her again is the second chance he never thought he would have, but he realizes that she isn't the same woman as she used to be. Helping her is only the first he is willing to take to win back her trust and her heart.

Griffin is a male character like I loved them; he is a good man. From the beginning, you can tell that he cares about the people around him. When Kenna asked for his help, he made sure that's what she wanted, he didn't push her to tell him anything she wasn't ready to tell him and he gave her what she needed.

Together, you can tell that he was made to help her piece back together the parts of her she had lost since the war. Whenever they were together, yes, it was hot and steamy, but more than that, I felt like it was really part of her healing process.

Overall, I really really enjoyed this book and I'm really looking forward to the next book of the series.

I was giving an advanced copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

I've found me a new author and I couldn't be happier!

This had been sat on my kindle for well over 2 years, at some point I'd picked it up as a freebie. I'm not sure why this caught my eye over all the hundreds of other books on there, but it did. What I do know is that it didn't take long for me to be totally hooked on Kenna and Griffin's story.

Second chance seems to be a trope I can't resist, so this already had an advantage, but it doesn't automatically guarantee a books success for me. Something about this just spoke to me and touched my heart - I even shed a tear or two at this one. It was refreshing that the split wasn't the result of a stupid misunderstanding, nor was it a big secret that was kept for half the book. Griffin fully owned the mistake he made and then realised a few weeks too late.

Several different topics were covered in this, though most of them tied back to Kenna's loss and the guilt she felt as a survivor. I really liked that there was no being "cured" of her problems by love, though she, andGriffin both underwent personal growth through the book. Whilst I liked Griffin, especially as he wasn't too arrogant or overbearing and he was very caring and solicitous of Kenna, she was the character who held my attention and made me fall in love with this book. Her story was touching and the journey she takes captured my heart.

The BDSM aspects focus mainly around bondage and suspension with ropes, and the scenes were all private. There were also some "D/s" sex scenes, where there were no toys used but there was a power exchange involved. I found them well written and hot. I would recommend the book to those who enjoy BDSM romances and I will read more work by the author.

Unapologetic Romance Readers' New Year 2018 Reading Challenge: Erotic Romance

2.5 stars rounded up because the heroine is a Marine who lost part of her arm in combat and suffers from PTSD and survivor's guilt. We need more female characters like that, and we need them now!

I realize that sex is a significant, if not the most significant, aspect of an erotic romance. And I’m not opposed to that, as long as there is appropriate development and depth of characters and plot. But I felt that development and depth were lacking here. That said, they weren’t terribly lacking. This reader just wanted more meat – and not of the sexual kind.

There are shades of a second chance romance here between Griffin, a Dom, and Kenna, his submissive. He refused to commit to her, and although he soon realized his mistake, Kenna had enlisted in the Marines. Year later, they have a chance reunion at Blasphemy, the BDSM club where they first met, and resume their master/submissive relationship. Griffin wants more than that, but Kenna is unwilling. For a hot second. And that was, I think, my biggest gripe. As broken-hearted as Kenna supposedly was, she gave in rather quickly. Not to mention Griffin didn't work that hard. With token resistance and minimal grovel – some of my favorite components of a second chance romance – there was an overall lack of conflict and emotion. The story’s length (longer than a novella but not quite a full-length novel) did it no favors.

I do appreciate that the book shone on a light on veterans' issues, and I found Kenna’s personal journey more fulfilling than the romance.

This was well-written, with some original elements, and I think that if you lower your expectations, you'll find enjoyable aspects. The fourth book, being released later this month, is m/m, and I plan to check it out!

This was just THE BEST! Right from the start I was hooked and completely entranced by Kenna and Griffin’s story. It was filled with an incredible amount of emotion and heat and I loved how everything intertwined. Amazing read!

Laura Kaye writes some of the best heroines. I'm sure I've said this with previous books of hers as well but it's true. They just really resonate with me and effect me. I absolutely adored Kenna. There was so much strength in this women and she puts herself out there to really start healing and living her life to the fullest. It was just full of so much emotion and it was was incredibly well written. Griffin was so sweet and so there for Kenna as they come together. I loved that level of strength he gave to her to be able to really open up.

The story was amazing. The writing just had me so engrossed and the world around me fell away. I loved learning Griffin and Kenna's history, there were such great details and character development. And somebody pass me a fan because oh my goodness these two together are so freaking hot together! There was some really nice scenes in there. ;-)

There is a major amount of intensity and emotion in this but I loved that there were a few lighter moments too bringing some much needed levity to the story. I swear some of those more intense and emotional scenes had me holding my breath. They were just so raw and real with vulnerable moments.

I also really enjoyed getting more of a glimpse at the other Masters and can’t wait to read Quinton’s story. I really liked seeing Kyler and Mia again too. I think it’s just an all around great cast of characters.

This was such a well crafted story with rich characters and I loved the dual POV of storytelling. And yes it has super hot moments but it is so much more than that. It's this truly amazing journey of healing and finding love and becoming whole again. Absolutely amazing!

This was such a pleasant surprise!! It was a book that I randomly downloaded on kindle because it was free and it was way better than I was expecting!

This was sweet and tender, but still veryyy steamy. The heroine is also an amputee and, while I cannot personally speak to the representation, I really appreciate that it was included.

Highly recommend if you're looking for something fun and quick that could definitely get you out of a reading slump.

I'm really looking forward to reading more from Laura Kaye!

Bound to Submit was the first book in the Blasphemy series by Laura Kaye. It was a quick, light and entertaining read.

Kaye did an excellent job setting the stage for the primary characters within the series. Blasphemy was a BDSM club and the series highlights the Masters. Bound to Submit detailed Master Griffin's story.

One mistake five years ago cost Griffin Hudson the only woman he ever loved. Although he tried, he expected never to see her again.

Kenna Sloane was a wounded marine that lost both her arm and her best friend in the war. She's back and not healing well. Prior to the marines, the happiest time in her life was when she was a submissive at the Blasphemy BDSM club. She was desperate to heal and willing to try anything, including darkening the doors of a place she thought she would never return.

Bound to Submit was an Interesting mix of second chances, overcoming military wounds - both physical and mental, and experiencing a BDSM club with a focus on ropes and bondage. Kaye took an educational and technical approach with her club scenes between a Dom and his Sub. It was a refreshing change from most books I've read recently.

All in all, it was a fast and enjoyable read. I look forward to Master Quinton's story next in Mastering Her Senses.

I've never been into BDSM books because they either have bad storylines or they are just full of sex that has no meaning.I have now had a change of heart, not only is bound to submit very well written its one of the best book I've read in this genre! This story was a emotional rollercoaster.it was about more then sex,it was a love story with many, many layers. The characters were awesome.Griffin Hudson is a Dom and part owner of the club blasphemy who made a mistake of letting his submissive kenna Sloane leave after she told him that she loved him and wanted to be in a permement relationship. Much has changed when kenna returns to blasphemy to try to get past losing her arm and her best friend in a accident while she was serving in the Marines. Together these two work past not only the ghosts that haunt kenna but their relationship and together this Dom and his submissive find true love!!! 5 star can't wait for the next in this great new series!!

I picked this short novel up as a kindle freebie and a quick palate cleanser between other novels and I was quite impressed.

Kenna Sloane is a veteran of Afghanistan and an amputee, now back in the US, but struggling with survivor's guilt, PTSD and physical pain relating to the loss of her arm. While she's getting on with her life, she's far from happy. Before she joined the Marines she was a member of Blasphemy, a local BDSM club, and had a relationship with a dom there that ended because he wouldn't commit to a relationship. Five years since she left, Kenna returns to Blasphemy and Griffin, the dom she left behind, looking for some stress relief and finding much more than she anticipated.

Second-chance romance isn't normally my thing, but the premise of a kinky amputee and how that could be handled in a BDSM context was enough to snag my interest. I felt it was written well, handled respectfully and was a nice quick romance novel all up. I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series, but I'd be happy to try this author again.

OMG! I just finished this book in one sitting on a plane. I LOVE this book and the characters HARD! It’s an erotica combined with a beautiful second chance love story of a slightly broken heroine and an alpha hero.

Kenna always wanted to be a submissive. She belonged to an exclusive BDSM club where she met Griffin who was her master for a year. Kenna starts to develop feelings for Griffin beyond the sub and Dom relationship but Griffin is young and makes the biggest mistake of his life – he lets her go.

“Finding you again was the luckiest thing that ever happened to me.”

Five years pass. Kenna returns to town a different person – a wounded Marine who lost one of her arms but that is not the only thing. Kenna lost her best friend, her care free spirit and her confidence. She suffers pain physically and mentally, strutting along surviving on a disability bill and gives unenthusiastic motivational speeches. She feels anything but motivated in her current life. When Kenna returns to Blasphemy she has one goal – to numb her pain, to forget and to feel good again. Griffin is a sexy Dom at Blasphemy. He has been living with regrets that he lost the only person he ever loved. He’s been looking for Kenna but in vain. So when Griffin lays eyes on the beautiful Kenna in the audience for the first time in 5 years he is flabbergasted. It’s like seeing a ghost from the past, but this ghost has completely grown up and is more beautiful than ever. But something has changed about Kenna – she is more closed off, broken, distant. Griffin knows he has been given a second chance at love. This time he is determined never to let her out his sight ever again. There will be a hard road ahead but Griffin is up for the challenge of breaking her walls down.
Bound to Submit is not just about a BDSM romance between a man and a woman. This story is also about a broken heroine who is dealing with the guilt and shame of being the lone survivor with her best friend dead. She does not think she deserves to live a happy life. Griffin also changes over the year. He is sexy as ever but he is more mature. He turns out to be a caring and loving man – the only one that can help heal her heart.

“I realized that I never stepped. I’ve been in love with you for so long that I don’t know how not to love you.”

I am a huge fan of Laura Kaye’s writing. Since the moment I read the first page I was captivated and sucked into the story until the end. The chemistry between Kenna and Griffin is scorching hot. The storyline is simple and to the point without too many distractions. Bound to submit is sexy, sensual and sizzling with role playing, rope, and binding - no doubt about that. But it is also a beautiful, emotional, angsty, heart-warming story of survival, healing and unconditional love. It’s beyond what I expected of the BDSM genre. This is the first book of the Blasphemy series and I CANNOT WAIT to see what is next. Bound to Submit is such an easy, fast paced, sweet, sexy read guys! I highly recommend.

It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten immersed in an erotic BDSM series. Blasphemy is a sex club located in an old church. I still haven’t figured out my thoughts on that, they range from finding it funny to being a bit horrified. I received an arc of the latest in the series, Eyes On You, and enjoyed it so decided to go back and read the rest. I liked Bound to Submit even more than I did the first one.

Five years ago, Griffin had informed Kenna that he wasn’t ready for commitment when she confessed her love to him. By the time he came to his senses, she’d disappeared. His rejection gave her the push she needed to find her calling – the Marines. She’s home now but only after an IED took her best friend and it also took her arm. Kenna is broken, suffering from survivor’s guilt and PTSD.

This story was unbelievably sexy, but the hottest thing of all was the emotions and passion that they had between them. Sometimes a BDSM book can be clinical feeling but that wasn’t the case here at all.

Griffin’s care of Kenna and his determination to not only win his woman back but to help her both physically and to emotionally deal with her demons won me over. He did make a few mistakes along the way, but he owned it when it happened.

For such a short book there were a lot of feels here and character growth I usually don’t see from a book of this length. Sure it could have gone deeper, but I don’t think I missed out on too much. I don’t have a list of things I wanted more from. Mastering Her Senses is up next and I’m really looking forward to diving in.

Rating: 4 Short, emotional, and sexy Stars.

OMG! I loved this book SO SO hard! All the feels...I did NOT want to put it down! These characters that Laura has created are just...EVERYTHING! Laura Kaye's brand of romance had me weak in the knees with every turn of the page. I had butterflies in my stomach, and there were times I forgot to take a breath! It was just so perfectly sweet, intense, and emotional! I wanted to experience BOUND TO SUBMIT over and over again!

"I'm not sure you realize what you're getting into with me, Kenna. Because I've missed the hell out of making you come."

"Oh, God,"

"God can't save you. Not from me. Not tonight."

We were first introduced to Blasphemy in HARD TO SERVE, a Hard Ink novella from Ms. Kaye. And ever since then, I've been DYING to go back. The exclusive BDSM club, known as Blasphemy, sets the sexy and seductive scene for Kenna and Griffin's second chance love story. Five years is a long time to go without the touch of a Master, but Kenna Sloane has been through so much and is ready to dive back into the world of surrender. Griffin wasn't ready for Kenna all those years ago. And now that he has set his sights on her again, he'll be damned if he lets her get away for a second time. But this time, Kenna is the one not ready for more. She tells herself that all she needs is his power to get her out of her own head. She can't get closer than that. She can't risk her heart again, only to have it be ripped to shreds. When Griffin learns the real reason of the sadness in the beautiful Kenna's eyes, guilt takes over and regret becomes a lump in his throat. He won't mess this up again. He knows what he wants and he knows what Kenna needs. Now he just has to convince her of this.

"You will have patience. You will breathe. You will submit to my bondage,"

"Yes, Sir,"

WOW! This story just left me so raw. Laura Kaye brings to light the issues of PTSD, and does it with such grace and beauty. My heart ached for Kenna and what she's been through and it made my heart swell when Griffin brought her back to herself. If you are looking for a sensual tear-jerker, BOUND TO SUBMIT is the romance for you. This is only the beginning of this series and it's already a favorite of mine. You will fall in love with more than just the main characters. These characters will become a family to you, which enhances the story that much more. Up next, we have Master Quinton's story. It's hard not to love this guy because of how he tries to steal the show in BOUND TO SUBMIT. Well the floor is all his in MASTERING HER SENSES, coming Spring 2017!

“Just feel. That’s all I want you to do. That’s your whole job right now. Feeling what I’m doing to you.”

It was Master Griffin that I was most excited about when I first read the introduction to the Blasphemy Series in Hard to Serve. And then ta-da!

“It was Kenna. The same freckle on her cheekbone. The same scar above her eyebrow. The same bow-shaped lips that looked so fucking beautiful gasping in orgasm and wrapped around his cock.”

This is a story of finding out your purpose in life again and the second shot at love was just icing on the cake. Kenna was a Marine, medically discharged because of the loss of her right forearm and hand. Her purpose had been to give motivation to people like her, after serving her country but she’d always feel like a fraud because of survivor’s guilt.

I like Kenna Sloane a lot. She’s brave, vulnerable and full of insecurities but that she took hold of her life and have gone back to that one thing that gave her the escape she needs, find herself in the process. Her journey was admirable.

Master Griffin on the other hand, oozed that mysterious aura from the beginning that I’ve gotten a glimpse of him. Reading about him hadn’t diminished that, it only increased his appeal. Dominant, a man who learned from his mistakes, and oh so sweet.

“I see beauty, Kenna. I see surrender. I see a woman bound to submit to me, and me alone. I see you.”

This book reminded me of why I loved to read BDSM novels. Even the strongest of women can be vulnerable but what made them stronger is their ability to let go, to surrender, to submit. Griffin and Kenna’s journey was heartbreakingly sweet but so hot with all the scenes. I enjoyed being in the Blasphemy and can’t wait to be back!

One of the things I love and look forward to when reading a Laura Kaye book is the use of f-bombs because what-the-fuck-ever. Seriously, I can’t get efuckingnough! I am excited to meet the rest of the masters and fall in love with them. ReadHard, always!

“The Marines hadn’t left her with much time to worry about her sex life-between training and deployment, sleep had been a premium, let alone sex. Still, on some level, she’d really missed this-this need to serve, to submit.”

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I'll be upfront and say I rarely read books that deal with a BDSM theme anymore, but when Ms. Kaye began this series I decided to give it a whirl and I'm so glad I did. This was an excellent second chance love story with engaging characters that desperately need each other in their lives. Emotional and sexy Bound To Submit was a well balanced romance with a healthy respect to those in the BDSM lifestyle.

Following a tour in Afghanistan where Kenna Sloane lost not only her hand and half of her arm but her best friend she is struggling to hold on to her life. Speaking of her experiences often makes her feel like a fraud and brings up nightmares and pain she doesn't want to relive. Realizing she needs more in her life she decides to return to the BDSM club Blasphemy even if it means running into Master Griffin; the man who broke her heart years ago. What Kenna doesn't know is that Griffin realizes the mistake he made and tried to make it right, but she was already gone.

I loved this book for many reasons including the fact that these two had a past, one that was mostly good but torn apart by a man not ready to face up to his feelings. While those actions were in part set Kenna on a new path the reality of it is that even with Griffin in her life she was unsettled and she needed to find herself and her purpose and the Marines gave her that at least for a little while. There was a lot of hurt and some self blaming going on but I appreciated that they were mature in their actions and words and worked through them.

While this book was set against the backdrop of the BDSM club Blasphemy and we do see a bit of the club life and the Masters and members, it wasn't just about this aspect of their lives. Ms. Kaye wrote a very well rounded story and the characters had to not only face up to their past, but make the decision to let go of things they couldn't change and move towards the life they both wanted.

The intriguing characters, their emotional connection, and the intensity of their bond made Bound to Submit impossible to put down.

Kenna and Griffin have a past and after years apart they reconnect. I'm a sucker for second chance love stories. I did enjoy this story but wished there was more of a build up with the main characters. They have a history and chemistry but it was hard for me to feel that connection. Kenna is also suffering from PTSD and I loved how Griffin stepped up to the plate to help. The storyline was good and I did enjoy the story but I was left wanting more after it ended. Hopefully in the next book we can get more with this couple. If you're a fan of BDSM I think you will enjoy this book.

Where to start... I freaking loved this book and I'm excited that there are more of them already out! Cheering lol.

When Kenna returns to Club Blasphemy she's not the same person she was five years ago. Having experienced a war zone and the loss that comes with it how could she have been. But she's back now and her only thought is seeing Master Griffin. The Dom she played with previously at the club and the man she fell in love with only to have it rejected.

Griffin realised the mistake he made with Kenna in the past but after that fateful night and not being able to locate her afterwards he moved on as best as he could. He never forget her. And the regret is something he lives with daily.

When he spots her in the audience watching him perform a scene with one of the clubs submissive's all he knows is that he will not throw away the opportunity that has been presented to him. Kenna is his, she was years ago but he was to young and blind to see it.

Kenna is here because she needs an escape. Escape from the pain, her memories and she just wants to feel again and she knows that Griffin can offer all that.

An emotional jam packed read. Of loss and finding yourself again.

Flat out sexy read, if you love your BDSM books then you need to read this. The steam factor is off the charts and I can't wait to dive into the rest of the books in this series.

For a novella, this was pretty intense.

No photo description available.

Kenna and Griffin were involved years ago and their past relationship helped to intensify their current reunion. Things between them are hot and heavy and very steamy with lots of rope play. It’s not common for me to really enjoy a book with this particular element, but everything between this hero and heroine was about healing. I found it to be incredibly beautiful.
