“When I get on that stage, I want to prove that you’re never too old to follow your dreams,” Dorothy Williams declared as she stepped onto the America’s Got Talent stage Tuesday night. But that’s not all the sassy 90-year-old proved.

Williams surprised the judges when she announced she’d be dancing, but she surprised them even further when that dance turned out to be a striptease. Her hips began swirling just after she sang the opening line to “Let Me Entertain You” from Gypsy. Next, she flirted with her red feather boa before flinging off her red skirt and unhooking her sequined bustier to reveal shorts and a tasseled tank top.

As Williams put those tassels to work, Simon Cowell kept trying to look away, while host Nick Cannon couldn’t stop declaring her a star.

Cowell was the first to give her a standing ovation, and Heidi Klum quickly followed suit. “I absolutely love you,” Klum said. “That was really, really special. You put me in a really good mood.”

“I find you fascinating, Dorothy. I do,” Cowell said. “And I do think there’s an audience for you. I think we need to work a little bit more on the tassels. I kind of wanted a longer song to see where this is going to end up.”

At that point, Cannon strolled on stage and addressed the audience. “We had a conversation backstage and Miss Dorothy told me that all she dreamed about all her life was being a star in a moment like this. I told her, ‘A star is born tonight!'” he said before explaining how the judges’ Golden Buzzer, which sends the contestant straight through to the live shows, works. “All of our judges already hit their Golden Buzzer, but you know what? I don’t care. I’m going to break the rules!” He then leapt off stage and sent Williams to further AGT stardom.
