Twitter has decided the Trump-Pence logo is pure filth

After months of speculation over who Donald Trump’s running mate might be in his quixotic campaign for the presidency, the answer is now both official and quite boring: Indiana governor and Christian crusader Mike Pence. Somewhere, perhaps, Taran Killam is donning a white-haired wig and thick, dark eyebrows while practicing his best sour-faced scowl in the mirror. But in the meantime, Trump has a campaign to run, and that means fundraising. With both halves of the GOP’s November ticket in place, the Republican National Committee is asking for campaign donations in an e-mail that unveils the first version of the Trump-Pence logo. It shows a giant, phallic T penetrating a helpless P while some red stripes stand off the side, powerless to interfere. In these jaded, snark-saturated times, that logo immediately became the target of mockery on Twitter. The Daily Beast’s Peter Slattery has a roundup of some of the best.

Journalist Mark Harris, for instance, imagined Trump’s own confused reaction when seeing the logo for the first time.

Anthony De Rosa, a production manager for The Daily Show, decided to give these two letters a little privacy. Young children might see the logo, after all, so maybe the point of penetration should be hidden from view.

Will Rahn, an employee of CBS News, also worried that the obscene logo might have an ill effect on younger folks.

Legal affairs reporter Sam Baker used this as an opportunity to point out that Pence has a terrible record on gay rights issues.

But it took Twitter user Darth to turn the logo into a full-on porno movie in GIF form.
