Whether or not J.A. Bayona’s new film A Monster Calls ends up being any good, we can say one thing for sure: it’s going to be beautiful. And, let’s be honest, if this trailer is any indication, it’ll probably be exceedingly good, too.

Based on a fantasy novel by Patrick Ness, A Monster Calls is about a boy (Lewis MacDougall) who is not doing well. His mom (Felicity Jones) is incredibly sick, the kids at school are bullying him, and his grandmother (Sigourney Weaver) is less than sympathetic. To escape these real world horrors, he invents a fantasy world lead by a monster (Liam Neeson) that helps him cope. The film opens October 21 and here’s the new trailer.

Hot damn, that’s great. Really pulls at the heart strings and the visuals are top-notch. It makes you that much for excited for Jurassic World 2, which Bayona is directing.
