Demi Lovato, Zedd Seem to Be on Team Calvin Harris After His Taylor Swift Twitter Rant

Taking sides? Demi Lovato and Zedd are both apparently siding with Calvin Harris, following and liking his tweets on social media after the Scottish DJ’s Twitter rant about his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift on Wednesday, July 13.

Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that Lovato, 23, quietly started to follow Harris, 32, on Thursday, July 14, after he unleashed a series of tweets calling out Swift, 26.

“Demi Lovato started following Calvin Harris on Twitter!” a fan account for the singer announced Thursday, attaching a screen grab of Lovato’s recently followed accounts, which also included Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda and 5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin.

Zedd liked three of Harris’ tweets to show his quiet support for the “How Deep Is Your Love” DJ.

On Wednesday, Harris confirmed that Swift had indeed written the lyrics to his hit “This Is What You Came For,” and that she had done it under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg. After reports surfaced blaming Harris for hurting Swift’s feelings by denying their collaboration, however, the hitmaker lashed out on Twitter.

“I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though,” Harris wrote. “And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym. Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though.”

“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do,” he added. “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy [Perry] ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it. Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one. God bless everyone have a beautiful day.”

Katy Perry was less subtle about whose side she’s taking, and made headlines on Wednesday with two cryptic tweets that appeared to be nods to her feud with Swift. (The pair had a falling out in 2014 that was rumored to be the inspiration behind Swift’s 2014 hit “Bad Blood.”)

The “Roar” songstress, 31, seemingly responded to Harris’ tweet with a gif of Hillary Clinton — Perry campaigned for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee during the primary season — making exasperated faces while at a podium.

Her second post was a retweet from her own account from May 9, 2015, which read: “Time, the ultimate truth teller.”
