CHARACTERS

Seraphina Cross was an interesting character to read about albeit being something of a cliched heroine; the good girl, the 'different' one, the girl with the visions. I saw in many reviews that people were surprised and shocked that she was still living with her parents at the age of 25. It wasn't shocking to me considering that's pretty normal in India, where I live. I personally enjoyed the friendship between Seraphina and Amanda. There is such a lack of good female friendships in books these days and this duo were a cute and fun pair of friends.

Nathaniel came off as a pretty believable angel. His character development is slightly fast but not rushed and therefore didn't seem awkward or unbelievable despite his story arc being slightly predictable. He is quite the hunk with the mysterious background.

Jack is a character I really liked. His story arc wasn't something I was expecting and that truly surprised me.

PLOT

This is the second story I'm reading that deals with angels. My first experience was definitely not good but Seraphina's Awakening makes me want to pick up more Angel books. A part of the plot was predictable but the overall mystery of the story remained till the very end. The first book in the series leaves readers with an air of mystery and many questions in their head. The question 'Who is Seraphina exactly' comes up at the very beginning and while we are given clues and ideas throughout the book, the question is still not answered at the end. Cannot wait to find out the answers in the next book!

WRITING

The writing was pretty immersive and I enjoyed the dialogue a lot; especially the conversations between Sera and Amanda. While there were certain grammatical errors, I found the book to be quite well written. Sera's dreams are described with a lot of detail and I enjoyed reading about them.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE BOOK

- The Characters
- The main plot
- The writing (for the most part)

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE BOOK

- The predictable parts of the plot
- The writing errors
- The love triangle (It felt slightly forced)

CONCLUSION

A solid read if you enjoy stories that deal with Angels and Demons. The plot gives an air of mystery and the novel is quite well written.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LOP or lovers of paranormal)

description

Seraphina is a pretty, normal girl in her mid-twenties. She works at a medical office with her fun best friend, Amanda and, surprisingly, still lives with her parents. She gets depressed at times because she feels lost, like there is something missing in her life. For years, she has experienced dreams that feel like visions and for months she has had a reoccurring dream that features a gorgeous man that she is drawn to.

One night Seraphina gets hit by a car and miraculously wakes up in her bed the next day feeling better than ever. She then realized that her senses are heightened, she's stronger, and her hair and skin look different. After an altercation with an evil being, she gets to test out her new strength and it was awesome!

Finally, she meets the man from her dreams and starts to get some answers.

description

^^Nate is a beautiful angel who has been her guardian for months. He sacrificed everything to save her life, but that turned out to be just the beginning of their problems. Evil is after Seraphina. She starts to realize that she was created for a great purpose and wants to fulfill her destiny!

This is fast-paced, quick read. It kept me interested and entertained throughout. I didn't give it five starts mainly because of the (kind of) love triangle and insta-love. But those things did not stop me from really enjoying this story. Sera is a smart, strong female and Nate is absolutely swoon worthy! The writer did a great job building suspense that had me unable to put the book down. I LOVED that the epilogue was in Nate' POV from previous events. I definitely felt a little bit closer to his character after that.

The ending was satisfying but also left me very eager to read the second book! This is a wonderful paranormal romance - I'm hoping we wil see a bit more romance in the future (if you know what i'm sayin') :)

Seraphina’s Awakening by Sheena Hutchinson an angelic four-star read. This is the first book in the Seraphina series and what a start to the series, I have read a couple of other books by this author in a different Genre and loved those books so thought it was about time I gave this series a try and she writes so well in both genres. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series.
This book built the start to a very good read, it built up the background and got the mystery and thrill of the story it’s an enchanting read that will captivate you and take you on a journey that you won’t want to stop. I loved how the author had little side stories running through the main plot, and references that make you ponder. The story could have been confusing as there is lots going on, and the difference between day and night is the same as light and dark but the author manages to pull it all together.
This was a great small-town story, with something for everyone, a romance and dreams and visions that will enchant you. It will leave you dreaming about what life could be. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into book two.

This was the first book I read of this author, and although I felt some difficulty in feeling inside the story, from a certain point, I began to find myself trying to pull both for Sera and Nate (I loved it The fallen angel's character, Nathaniel).
This book brings us the awakening of Seraphina to her destiny. If, at first, she felt strange and out of her world with the dreams that she had and that seemed to her real world and where she felt herself, from the moment she knows what she was, in fact, someone with a mission, and with a purpose, it completely transforms itself. She becomes a woman with powers and capacity to protect herself.

First off, I received this book from Xpresso Book Tours via Netgalley to read and review. For that I am grateful but it will not influence my review in any way.

Let me get this first before anything else, I’ve heard about this book somewhere but I can’t remember where. It was the second book of this series that I saw first and when I found out that the first book was entitled Seraphina’s Awakening and it somehow sounded familiar. So I requested it when I saw it in the Review Opportunity section of the Xpresso website.

I was kind of excited to read this because I got high expectations about this book. However, as I’m reading it, I realized that my expectations were indeed too high.

It was entitled Seraphina’s Awakening but I was 75% in and I still do not know what she’s awakened from. Lol. And I was so confused.

Dude I don’t know what the main genre of this book is. It seems like fantasy but then it also feels a lot like romance, there are so many men involved bes.

If I’m judging the book’s genre from the title alone, I would really say it’s a fantasy kind of book. But when I read it, bes, it feels like romance. I’m so confused. But I just keep reading thinking that maybe the romance is just a side genre because, hey, it’s an awakening book. Like there’s more to it than romance I’m sure of it. But then there’s none. If there is I didn’t feel any of it.

Though I have to say that the concept of the book is kind of nice. It wasn’t unique for me because it’s not my first time reading an angel-human romance. Yes. It is an angel-human romance. Though it wasn’t just an angel and a human. There’s actually a love triangle in here. And you wanna guess who the third one is? Yeah?

If you’re thinking that the third one to complete the love triangle is a demon, then you’re WRONG!

Lol! XD

That would be cliché if the third one is a demon which makes the love triangle very… XD. No. the third person in the love triangle is a psychic. Yes. A guy psychic. I’ve never heard of it too but it’s here in this book.

And then there’s this part where Sera died and was reborn. Yeah. That’s when the changes started happening. Sera has dreams about angels and demons but sometimes those dreams aren’t explained that well. Like what are those dreams for? Why is she dreaming those? Why? Why? Why?

Then the narration part is a bit confusing. It is narrated in a third person point of view and most of it and in Seraphina’s point of view but then there are times when it will just turn into a first person point of view. One minute the narration is using he, she, them, and then the next it was I and we. It was confusing.

To wrap this up, I was expecting that the story of this book would be good. Like epic or something. I don’t know why I put an expectation that high. Lol! Still I don’t know what Sera was awakened from and I think I need to read the second book to find out what it is. Until then, I didn’t like the story.

THE AUTHOR HAD NO INFLUENCE IN THIS REVIEW WHATSOEVER

It's about a female who still lives with her parents!! She's shy most of the time and had no reason to be Until she finds herself between with a gorgeous angel, Nathaniel 'Nate', and a adoring handsome human, Jack. And she's starts to find out who she is really us and what she's capable of.

Sera might be a typical girl with problems but she always tries to do what's best for others despite her own problems. She always tries to avoid embarrassing or weird situations. She had some growing up to do during the book. But she eventually did after she encountered things she could just avoid and am happy about it. Everyone has that moment and she might have freaked out learning about it, but she tried to handle it the best she could. And I would consider her as my favorite character for those same reasons. The story's told by Sera's point of view and I felt like I was Sera myself because of the precise detail without over exaggerating it. Yes, the first couple of chapters might bore you, but for me it was just an excitement to meet her bestie and people that surround Sera. I just couldn't put it down.

And when I meet Nate I was so pissed that he thought we were so mundane (human) ... but still I loved him. He was always protective about her

Normally I would just throw out any books about angels because they bore the crap out of me. But this book just had me hooked. It seemed to blend most of the time with the setting and made it realistic as it could actually happen. It had everything one would what: made me laugh the first half of the book and as a hopeless romantic ... have a small love triangle which gave it an extra touch. But sometimes it seemed like the author rushed through the details and had a hurry in finishing the book. We also could have know the characters a little more. I just got to know Amanda and Sera well, but would love to have know the boys a little deeper. That's why a give it a 4 1/2 rating.

I'm very impressed with Sheena because it's her first novel, but it made it seem like it isn't. Some authors have written far more books and series, but never have reached the point in writing a spectacular novel/book. Congrats.

I've just been informed that there's going to be a sequel!! So excited. Recommended for everyone, it will give you a whole new perspective of paranormal stuff and angels.

Seraphina’s Awakening is the first book in the Seraphina Series and debut novel by Sheena Hutchinson. This is a wonderful fantasy/paranormal romance with mystery, drama, a well written and imaginative storyline, superb world building full of descriptive and vivid imagery, and with really captivating characters. I am impressed that this is a debut novel- it flows well, has a great pace, is easy to follow, is believable, quite polished and professional. Since this book's debut, Ms. Hutchinson has released several more books, all of which are now on my must-read list.
In this story we meet Seraphina, Nathaniel and a cast of supporting characters- who will grab your attention and keep you enthralled the entire way through the book. Seraphina seems like a typical normal girl, but as the story unfolds we get to know her better and realise that there is more to her than meets the eye. Little by little, more about her is revealed- all the way through to the end, but even then, I wanted more and still had some questions, which had me clamoring to get the next book. Nathaniel brought so much to the story with all his sexy, mysterious Angel vibe happening. The story really takes off when he gets a summons that will change his life/fate forever. I hung on every word of the story to discover where it was leading. I was so focused on the story, that I devoured the book in a day.
The story was a tiny bit slow to get going, but after a few chapter’s the pace picked up and the story took flight. I did feel that the last few chapters were a little rushed. Even though some parts of the story were a little predictable, it didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story.
So, if you like a paranormal/ fantasy with Angels and Demons, good versus evil, a story that has an interesting plot, fantastic characters, witty dialogue, is fun, romantic and believable- then this is definitely the book for you!

Thank you, Ms. Hutchinson!

I was given a free copy of this book as part of the blog tour for The Seraphina Series

Overall, Seraphina's Awakening was a solid start to The Seraphina Series that will appeal to many fans of the paranormal/angel & demon genre. There were some things that I wasn't a huge fan of, but by the end, the story really started taking off and I was intrigued enough to check out the next in the series.

I have always been a fan of Angel/Demon stories, so I was hoping this one would be another hit. And it was...for the most part. I thought that Ms. Hutchinson set up the story very well for readers and her world building was great. We are slowly introduced to the world, just as Seraphina is, and there is an overall mystery throughout the book where the reader (and Seraphina herself) is left questioning, "who or what is Seraphina?" I thought this was an interesting way to go about things, however it does mean the book is a little slow and predictable. For me, this was the book's biggest downfall. Maybe it's because I have read so many Angel/Demon stories before, but I knew where this book was headed as soon as it started.

The characters were great and I did truly connect with Seraphina. However, she is very much the cliched heroine in this book...you know the one: the good girl that doesn't date that much and has this "mysterious" power that makes her different. I did like how she began to develop towards the end of the story, which gave me hope for the second and third books. I liked where her character was headed, which was another reason I was willing to check out the next book. I also adored Sera's friendship with Amanda. They are two peas in a pod, and I loved every scene they had together. Nathaniel was okay to be honest...he wasn't my favorite, but he wasn't terrible either. I thought his character development was a little awkward at parts only because it was so quick. Again though, by the end I loved him...and he is quite the heartthrob (at least how I'm picturing him haha). Lastly, Jack was a great character and I was pleasantly surprised by his storyline and his characterization. I didn't expect to enjoy his character as much as I did. As you can probably guess, there's a love triangle, which wasn't my favorite. It felt very forced and again was awkward at parts of the story.

The writing was pretty good as well. I'm not the biggest fan of present tense, but it worked well in this story. It just took some getting used to for me. So this complaint is entirely my own personal quirk. There were some grammatical errors too, but they don't detract from the story. The one part of the writing that I greatly enjoyed were Sera's dreams. They were very descriptive and came alive. I felt I was watching a film while I was reading these sections, and it shows that Ms. Hutchinson has a great amount of talent!

I would definitely recommend checking this book out if you are a fan of Angel/Demon stories. This was a good start to the series, and I enjoyed it enough to read the second (and the third) books! While there are some flaws (mainly the predictability and the love triangle), it is still an enjoyable read!

Happy reading :)

Seraphina's Awakening is the first book in the Seraphina series by Sheena Hutchinson. Another new author for me, and I was excited to see what was on offer. I am not one to stray too far from my favourite genre, but I don't want to miss anything, so taking a chance is a must.

Seraphina has the power to see more than the average human. She finds herself a new person upon awakening one day, but is clueless as to how and why it happened. She has to piece together what has happened. A meeting with a stranger brings some clarity to her dilemma. With new powers comes strange being and too many eyes on her. This story was a mystery I just had to solve quickly. I had this irresistible urge to rush through this story, not allowing anything to get in my way.

This tale was a surprise and one that was totally unexpected. I took a little while to warm up but once I did, I couldn't get enough. The characters were intriguing and a puzzle begging to be unveiled. The story was engaging and energetic. In a nutshell, it was a really enjoyable read. 4 stars.

Seraphina’s Awakening by Sheena Hutchinson is a paranormal romance that I gave 4 stars. It has a good plot (good vs evil), and the imagery of the dreams is amazing(could visualize while I was reading)! This book is written in third person POV, and I feel that it would be easier to connect with the characters had it been 1st person POV. Sera is written as such a bada$$ chick thrust into the world of the paranormal-angels vs demons. The book was engaging though slow build up, but also hard to connect with in my opinion. The characters were well developed, as was the world in which they existed. This was a steady paced read, but didn’t keep my attention at all times. Lots of information & action, but just didn’t have that personal and real feeling to it. Would recommend to those who prefer 3rd person POV, and fantasy reads!

Seraphina's Awakening by Sheena Hutchinson is the first book in the seraphina's series and this is the first book that i have read by this author . This series is an amazing paranormal romance read. Seraphina is a young lady in her 20's who works with her best friend Amanda. But Seraphina always feels kind of out of place and soon she will figure out what is going on. This book will get you hooked and will keep you reading for more. The journey that Sheena takes you through Seraphina's life is intoxicating and will keep you reading for more. The Characters in this book are fun to read about Seraphina is trying to figure all these things that are going on with her and her body while her best friend is boy crazy and outgoing. I really love this read and cant wait to read book 2 in this series. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this book.

Stop by my blog post to enter giveaway and read excerpt:

I really enjoyed this book. It was a bit dull the first few chapter or two, but that happens a lot in first books in a series. Once the paranormal elements came in to play it really got my interest up.

I got to say I didn't like Sera very much that first part. Part of that was she has such a dull life that she did complain about a bit. The talk of the depression and that was quite deep and made me uncomfortable at times, But as she got "happy" after the changes, then I started to like her. Didn't like the down feelings she put out at first.

I loved Nate, wow, what a hottie and all around great guy. When I read the Epilogue at the end, made me love him even more, he is the real deal.
Here is a small quote of Nate, he is just so sweet (he is not a stalker, he was sent to protect her and don't want to spoil anything so will just leave it at that)

“I know you barely know me and this might sound crazy to you, but I have known everything about you for months now,” he continues apprehensively, “What I’m trying to say is... I would do anything for you Sera. I would do anything to protect you.” he finishes while he brings the back of my hand to his lips and kisses it softly.

I was suspicious of Jake right away, and still am, not sure what it is, not sure. I think more may be uncovered in another book in series. I sure hope there will be another book, and soon . I didn't see any listed at Gooodreads or anywhere else so not sure when it will be out. I did see a blurb and cover at the authors website, but no release date. I can't wait. This left us hanging, no closures, just more questions and left me wanting more.

The romance part of this book is pretty much non-existent, so if you're looking for a steamy paranormal romance, this is not it. But that's fine with me, I think some author go way overboard with the sexual stuff in my opinion, but not this author, which is refreshing. It is set up for some romance later on I think, and like this stuff to take more time, it's more enjoyable to me. But we do get a bit of the steam with the dreams/visions, not sure which , if they are past lives or future visons. Either way, they are pretty good.

I give this 5 out of 5 stars. I really did enjoy it, especially when it got out of the depressive stage.

I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

There is an exclusive excerpt that I picked out at my blog post, so go check it out, just click the tour banner at top. You can also enter the giveaway too if you want.

Seraphina's Awakening
by; Sheena Hutchinson

Sera feels like she is just going thru the motions of her life. There should be more in this world that is important. The only time she feels this way is at night when she is dreaming. Every night since her eighteenth birthday she has dreamed of a handsome stranger, but never sees his face. Nathaniel was sent to earth to watch over her, but makes a mistake and takes his eyes off Sera and she has a horrible accident that should have killed her but fate intervened and saved her. After the accident things start changing for her and she starts seeing and feeling things she cannot explain. After she meets a handsome stranger, the puzzle finally comes together.
All the sudden Sera finds herself being hunted and does. it understand what they want from her. Sera's past has squashed her hopes and dreams about the future. Her friendship with her bestie Amanda is an unshakable bond between them. They know they always have each other's back no matter what life May throw at them. Then there is Nathaniel, who stands quietly in the background. He will be the one that will mean the most to her. The story shows the power that love has and will have you believing that Angels are real and are all around us. Watching out for us, giving us hope that there is more important things that we do not understand and it's not up to us to ask why. Believing in a higher power is what gets us thru our life.
This is my first book from this author and wow in was not disappointed.

Seraphina’s Awakening is a solid first instalment to a new paranormal romance series that I highly recommend. It’s a story of self-discovery, good versus evil and gives us a refreshing take on angels and demons.

Sera is a young woman in her mid-twenties, stuck in an unfulfilling job by day and troubled by very vivid dreams at night. When her co-worker and best friend, Amanda, drags her along to a psychic shop to get a reading for herself, one of the other psychics approaches Sera. The psychic, Amazing Anna feels incredibly drawn to Sera and begs to do a reading for her. Sera feels incomplete, like something is missing in her life – she says – but big change is on the way. Anna also reveals it will involve important decisions and sacrifice, but also seems to be holding back something important. The following week is one of the strangest weeks of her life. She gets into an accident that should have cost her her life, but instead she wakes up the next morning feeling better and stronger than ever. She has no idea what happened that night, or what is happening with her right now and also seems to suddenly attract a lot of (unwanted) attention..

Seraphina’s Awakening is a perfect first instalment for a paranormal romance series. Yes, there is a (kind of) love triangle and insta-love, but it didn’t bother me in this story. I really liked Sera’s transformation throughout the book, although she was never really a Mary Sue to begin with (thank god). I’m really looking forward to the second book in the series Seraphina's Initiation and highly recommend this book to anyone that is looking for something in the New Adult Fantasy/Paranormal genre (but will probably also be enjoyed by most Young Adult readers)!

I received an advance review copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

So, what if you’re whole life you felt like something was missing. You felt like you weren’t living out your purpose in life and you were missing someone who was so close but still too far away. This one is definitely intriguing, and has a whole new take on the fallen angel status. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a fun ride experiencing this one.

Sera thinks she’s plain, and has not much going for her. She still lives at home, she has a boring job, yet a fun friend. She has a crush on the coffee shop owner that will never amount to anything. And on top of that, she keeps having dreams of this wonderful man who will not only fill her life, but fulfill her destiny in life. She keeps thinking she’s useless. She’s isn’t even really trying. And then she gets a date with that coffee shop owner, and then she has an accident and her life completely changes. Not just for her, but for a few around her. She can’t remember her past, she doesn’t understand the world she’s in, it’s a lot.

Nate’s pretty mad that he’s an obedient angel, and yet gets “demoted” to babysit a human who is boring. Until he gets to know her. He doesn’t understand what’s going on and why he feels connected to her. And there’s a lot going on with trying to help Sera after her accident.

I really don’t want to spoil things, but if you are into a mysterious angel paranormal romance book this one is a must read. It’s intriguing, and it’s written very well. And as you watch Sera unfold into something wonderful, you also get to see Nate change too. I am surprised at the ending, enough that I want to read more and can’t wait for the next book :) 4 Angel Wings and Paws LOL

**I was given the opportunity to read "Seraphina: The Awakening" and the recently released book 2, "Seraphina: Initiation" as part of the series' blog tour.**

Sera is your average kind of girl, still living at home, feels like she's nothing special and maybe a little boring. Something is missing from her life; she feels incomplete. She's having dreams about a man she's never met and she has a crush on a cute coffee shop owner. So wouldn't it figure that her first date with him goes a little spooky haunted kitchen type of deal?

An accident triggers a change that alters her forever, and her mystery dream man just so happens to be real - and her guardian angel.

Unfortunately, I wasn't really drawn into the story and didn't invest in the characters. For me, Sera's miraculous (well, an angel WAS behind it) make-over turned me off. It felt like she wasn't good enough just as she was, and now she has no memory of her past to go along with her angelic new looks, super senses, and slayer powers. I did kind of like Jack and angel Nathaniel, though he went from being angry about his demotion to guardian angel to instantly in love at first sight. I'd have preferred a little more leading up to it. So even though the book didn't overly appeal to me, it WAS well written and WILL be exactly what many readers enjoy, so if you like Guardian Angel, good vs evil, paranormal romances, you should really check it out!

This book was provided in exchange for an honest review.

Seraphina “Sera” is a young woman whose life feels like it is stagnant and without direction. She still lives at home with her parents, stuck in a job that she does not enjoy, and plagued by visions every night when she dreams. That all ends in one of the strangest weeks of her life. She finds herself stuck between Nate, who is literally the man of her dreams, and Jack the man from the local coffee shop who has been flirting with her for months. At the same time she finds herself going through changes that she does not understand and followed by a sense of evil that has her on edge.

I am utterly impressed with this authors debut book. I was amazed to find out this started as a pet project that was never meant to leave her own desktop. Though most of this story is spent getting to know the characters and their stories leading into this series, never once did it lose my attention. The characters were amazing and I was pleasantly surprised that my first impression of Sera and Nate was very wrong. My first impression of Sera was that she was going to be a weak little flower that is in need of protecting and as it turns out she is really one tough chick with a lot of fight in her. I must say this is one of the better books I have read with a refreshing twist on angels and demons. I can not wait to see what the rest of the series has to offer.

“Seraphina: The Awakening” by Sheena Hutchinson is a great fantasy novel that falls into the paranormal genre. Her writing style is creative, intense and done in such a way that you will find yourself falling in love with the main character of the book.

The main character in the book is Sera. Many people just look at Sera as being a woman who is plain and yet, mysterious but without much going on in her life. She looks nice and attractive enough and her life tends to be uneventful but nothing out of the ordinary until one day she is in an accident that changes her world. The accident that she is in makes life extremely complicated for awhile because she cannot remember the past and she’s in a brand new world that she knew nothing about and everything is unsettling to her until she meets up with someone who helps her in a lot of ways.

If you enjoy fantasy books then this is just a must read. Author Sheena Hutchinson, goes out of her way with making it a book that you won’t be able to put down until you’ve finished reading it and even then, you might find yourself reading it twice. You’ll want to see what all happens to Sera and the ending will be a surprise to you. This is a must read fantasy book.

This is a story about Seraphina "Sera". She is at a rough patch in her life and is having trouble dealing with….life. Good vs evil. Also, SHE STILL LIVES WITH HER PARENTS! Sera, get your own place!!!

Nathanael "Nate" is pissed with GOD for making him take on this new job. And on Earth! The nerve he has to watch over a measly human and why do they have so many clothes!!!!

"A few minutes later, I hear the door knob turn and the door creak open. Slowly opening my eyes, I watch as she enters the room. I sit up straight as I feel a pulse of fire shoot down my spine at the sight of her."

Jack, the owner of the local coffee shop "Jack's Coffee Bean". Sera & Jack have a history, an awkward one but one none the less. There "first date" is quite entertaining & interesting. Is Jack good or evil?

Amanda, Sera's BFF. Is Amanda good or evil???

A horrible tragic accident has caused Sera's life to change, is it for the better? With this accident, Nate has a decision to make.

Secrets are revealed, lots of tears are shed in this story.

This was a great story. It took me some time to really get into it but when I did, ate it up!!! I highly recommend this story. Looking forward to the next book.

I was sent this book along with the 2nd one in series, for which I was reviewing.

I really enjoyed this book.
The characters are great. Nate is charged with being Seraphina's guardian angel, which he is pissed about due to feeling like he did something wrong as he guards the Throne and to him this is a downgrade from what he was doing.

Seraphina works at a medical office and has a best friend that I wish was mine, Amanda. She still lives at home, COME ON GIRL YOUR TOO OLD FOR THAT, and has a routine she pretty much sticks to, coffee, work, home. That's pretty much it for the goody-goody.

Jack, the owner of the coffee shop, asks Seraphina out on a date and strange things happen while on said date. Things go a little hay wired. Strange things have been happening to her for awhile but this was just the icing on the cake.

I can't wait to start the second book! And see how is all on the evil side and who is all on the good side. Amanda? evil? or good?
Jack? Evil or good? (I'm going with evil here since she gets those weird feelings around him)

This was a fabulous read. I loved this take on a fallen angel story and the battle between good and evil. The main character, Sera is so likable and relatable, just wanting to understand her purpose in life. It all seems to happen so fast, and the author does a fantastic job at keeping you in the story and not feeling confused about what is going on. The descriptions about everything are very well written. The descriptions of the demons and the possessed will probably be keeping me up at night. The end compels you to want to keep reading. I loved how Sera dealt with her gifts and the new, but strange situations happening around her. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick, engaging story. I am looking forward to reading on and learning more about Sera and Nate.

I found this book very relate-able, a lady in her mid 20s who is smart, lives at home with her parents, has a job which she does not enjoying doing, and have dreams every night of a wonderful man who will fill her life plus her destiny. Yes, she has a fun BFF and a crush on the coffee shop owner. What she's not understanding is why she is feeling lost and missing something in her life. With a freak accident, she wakes up from a mousee attitude to a strong kick azz female.

I found it to be a fast paced and easy to read book. This has a whole new take on the fallen angels. It has an intriguing mysterious angel paranormal romance.

I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Love this debut novel! Sera starts off as your average girl in the story and we get a glimpse into the world she is about to become a part of, yet we only get it in pieces just like she does.
Then everything starts happening at once and she has to learn to trust herself and she really has to learn to trust and open up to her guardian!
Go get this book and read it, right now... go on!
You will fall in love with Sheena Hutchinson's writing just as I have!
Well worth your time!

I did enjoy the story line. It seems a little outlandish that a 25 yr old female would be so trusting to go in the middle of nowhere with a man she had a 10 minute conversation with or that she has all these "changes" but is calm about it. Also, in the epilogue, her name was changed to Sarah? This book reminds you that hope is still there and reminds you that God is always watching over you. 168 pages.

Many women, I think go through a time similar to Seraphina's.... They are waiting, expecting and hoping for something more. What most women don't go through is this amazing change after an accident. Sera realizes she has powers and the hunk she's been dreaming about is a real life Angel!! Well fallen Angel, but Nate is just wonderful. Swoon. The action kept me reading and I cannot wait to start the next book!

Fantastic! I loved reading Sera's story! We first met her in Discovering April and she was this mysterious girl I wanted to know more about. After finishing that book and the sequel, I was excited to learn Sera was getting her own series!
I loved this book and the supernatural plot. Sera is bad*ss and a great heroine. So many things go on and even the owner of the coffee shop plays a part. I highly recommend this paranormal romance and give it five glittery stars!

I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I am really getting into this story, and am feeling connected to the characters. This is the first book I have read from this author, but I am looking forward to more of her work. I love the angel and the fallen angel, he gives up everything for her.

Seraphina: The Awakening was a great read. I admit it took me a minute to get into the book. However, once you do, I can say the story is a good one. Favorite character: Nathaniel! I adore him.
