Trolls trailer: Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick get colorful

In the brand new trailer for the upcoming Trolls, Justin Timberlake stars as a pessimistic survivalist named Branch, a grumpy grey troll who’s locked himself away in a survival bunker, all in the name of keeping himself away from the “nightmare” outside.

That nightmare? A hot pink ball of sunshine and glitter named Poppy, voiced by Anna Kendrick.

As the leader of the trolls, Poppy is all happiness and rainbows, leading her community in elaborate dance numbers and constant sing-alongs. But when a terrifying creature known as a Bergen shows up and kidnaps all her friends, Poppy has to team up with the pessimistic Branch to try to rescue them.

As Branch puts it, “You’re going to scrapbook them to freedom?”

In addition to lending his voice to Branch, Timberlake also helmed the Trolls soundtrack, including music from Gwen Stefani and his own recent single “Can’t Stop The Feeling.” The Trolls voice cast also includes Stefani, James Corden, Russell Brand, Kunal Nayyar, Ronald Funches, and Icona Pop.

“As a grown up you do think, ‘Why do we love those trolls so much?’” Kendrick told EW earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival. “The only thing that I can come up with is that they’re that ugly cute.”

Those ugly cuteTrolls will hit theaters on Nov. 4.
