June 24 is the date to remember for Mercedes-AMG’s most hardcore current car, the GT R.

Coming straight from the jungle where Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has been sent in an expedition to track it down, the Mercedes-AMG GT R is finished in an exclusive shade of green dubbed AMG Green Hell Magno.

The high-performance machine will be positioned on top of the current AMG GT and AMG GT S and might be followed by an even meaner variant, which could wear the Black Series moniker.

However, until the brand’s chiefs greenlight this project, the AMG GT R is the range topper of the series, setting itself apart with a more aggressive body kit, chassis improvements, tweaked suspension, steering and brakes and some mods made inside, while the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, used on several other AMG vehicles, will be good for 585 PS (577 HP) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.
