Ben Affleck: Deflategate rant 'one of my favorite interviews'

The biggest supporter of Ben Affleck’s expletive-filled rant about Deflategate on the debut episode of Bill Simmons’ new HBO show Any Given Wednesday? Ben Affleck himself.

After the interview went viral on Thursday, owing to Affleck’s enthusiasm for the subject of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his four-game suspension by the NFL, the Batman actor tweeted that he perhaps said one too many swears on the broadcast but otherwise thought it went well.

“For those of you keeping score at home, I gave exactly 18 f—s about my Pats. Upon reflection, 12 probably would have been sufficient,” Affleck wrote on Twitter. “We Boston fans have always been known for our subtlety. One of my favorite interviews; hope you get to see the entire episode. #GoPats”

(EW counted up 18 full utterances of f—, with an additional one cut off by Simmons.)

During the interview, Affleck called the Brady drama “the ultimate bullsh– f—ing outrage of sports ever.”

“This is a conspiracy of people working inside the NFL who all come from organizations that Tom Brady whipped their ass over the last 10 and 15 years. There’s guys who worked for the f—ing Jets, f—ing Broncos and everybody else, who are now going, ‘Yeah, hang him!'” Affleck said of the scandal. Brady was suspended for allegedly participating in a plot to deflate footballs before the AFC Championship Game in 2015.
