The actor and filmmaker is on board to direct the sci-fi drama The Leaves for Lionsgate/Summit, a source confirmed to EW. Written by Christopher Kyle and Kevin J. Walsh, the film tells the story of a man who is transported to a parallel universe and must convince the love of his life — who does not recognize him — that they are soulmates. Though Radnor is best known for playing the hopeless romantic Ted Mosby in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, he has also written and directed two indie movies: 2010’s Happythankyoumoreplease and 2012’s Liberal Arts. Unlike in those films, Radnor is not expected to appear onscreen in The Leaves. The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
