Callie has secrets, too many to count.

For twenty years she’s been living a lie as Callie Worthington, hiding from the monsters who brutally murdered her parents for possession of the Elixxir of Life. Unsuccessful before, their killers have found her and will stop at nothing to acquire the Elixxir. And see her dead.

Nathanael has a couple of secrets, too. A nasty one in particular blurs the line separating Good from Evil. As an immortal Brethren Warrior, though, he must retrieve the Elixxir before it falls into the wrong hands. Just how he’s going to get it out of Callie’s is the big question.

Tempers flare as Callie and Nathanael reach out to each other with their own hidden agendas. She needs his protection. He needs the Elixxir. Will their fiery passion lead to lasting love, or will their web of intrigue ultimately destroy them both?

Secrets, lies, and love’s loyalties tested. What price for immortality? What price for love?

4.5 stars.

Deena Remiel serves up another scorching hot and hellish ride with this latest Brethren Brothers installment.

Elixxir starts off following our heroine, Callie. Having survived a horrifying tragedy twenty years earlier- her life as she knew it is over. And after enduring a just as horrifying existence in the foster care system, she's finally left the past behind. At 33 she's a take no shit kind of gal and still has a heart of gold. But her new life hasn't been a cakewalk either. She's had failed relationships, the last being with one of the Brethren, Kemuel. As far a Callie knows he is part of Brethren Security. Two months ago he dropped off the planet without a word and she's comforted herself with a string of go nowhere dates. She's decided to give up on love and swear off men. In one weak moment reminiscing, Callie finds herself on the run again and at the mercy of Brethren Security. Nathanael is charged with protecting Callie and recovering the very thing that makes her a target. And so the adventure begins...

Okay, now that I've set this all up for you, I will not be going into any more of the story itself. Instead, I'll tell you what I thought of these characters and how Callie and Nathanael's tale made me feel.

I love Callie. She's one tough chick. She's smart, sexy, funny, and full of moxy. She knows how to take care of herself. Unfortunately she's not equipped to take on her enemy alone.

To the rescue- our angel, Nathanael. Can these brothers get any hotter? Nathanael is my perfect hero; gorgeous, cunning, gorgeous, devoted, with a tortured soul and a conflicted mind, powerful and GORGEOUS. So compelling and super sexy. Working on the side as a bounty hunter, Nathanael is task oriented and a bit addicted to serving up Brethren justice. Internally he's battling Evil and Satan wants him bad. He'll stop at nothing to bring Nathanael to the darkside. In spite of his teetering on the edge this dude is so hot it should be illegal.

When these two connect sparks fly. The heat between them is palpable. They really make a great pair. We can see right away that they complete each other. Of course they're both stubborn, confused and determined to do things "their" own way. It's clear they need one another to survive but she has to learn to trust him with her heart and he needs to really let her into his soul.

With battles of wits and wills between the two and against the ultimate Evil, this ain't no Sunday drive. It's frenzied, impassioned and intense to the extreme. And HOT!

The whole crazy wild ride had me on the edge of my seat worried for Callie's safety and Nathanael's sanity- praying for them both to make it out alive and together.

Deena, being the EVIL genius she is, puts us all through the ringer. There are enough twists and turns to keep your heart pounding and your brain guessing. And just when you think it might be over and the good guys win... well, it's just never that easy when the Big Guy, E.L. is involved.

Elixxir is great addition to the Brethren series... great heroine, amazing hero, HOT romance, and totally action packed. Getting to know Nathanael better and watch him shine- the icing on the cake.

Like riding a Harley through a hail storm, Elixxir is INTENSE!

Callie is running from her violent past and the unsolved murder of her parents. Nathanael is running from his addiction to violence, for with every “fix”, he is one step closer to Satan’s snare. Now Callie’s past is catching up to her, but can Nathanael save Callie without losing himself in the process?

“I called…to you.” She whimpered and his heart ached. “You came.”
He held her closer. “I’ll always come for you.”
-Elixxir by Deena Remiel

I am awed anew by Deena Remiel’s writing, and just how far she has come in such a seemingly short period of time. Callie is fierce, intelligent, attractive and damaged, a mix more potent than the Elixxir itself. The chemistry between she and Nathanael leapt off the page from the first moment that the two collided, and it doesn’t stop from that point on. The action smokes, the romance smolders, and the Brethren warriors are hot enough to burn down Hell.

The truth of who was behind the murder of Callie’s parents will shock you. Perhaps her problems and Nathanael’s aren’t so different after all. But can either of them learn to trust the other in time to save themselves? You’ll get no spoilers from me!!!

No matter what your cup of tea is, Elixxir’s cup runneth over. Non-stop action, nail-biting suspense, swoon worthy romance, angels, demons, and everything in between. You’ll be thirsty for more!

If you like Kim Harrison and Gena Showalter, Deena Remiel is going to be right up your alley. In my opinion, she is Paranormal Romance’s best kept secret that you will want to tell everyone about and THE author to watch for Gothic Romance and Urban Fantasy.

This is the first book I have read of the series. After finishing this book, I quickly bought the two I missed. I really enjoyed the story and the chemistry between the characters was great. Even though I was not surprised by who was the villain, the story still has a few surprises and will keep your full attention. I enjoyed the heroine Callie and her down to earth view. I liked the sexy Nathaniel, an angel with a serious problem. The idea that angels could be afflicted with problems like addiction, and fear made this book easy to connect with. I recommend this book if you are looking for a series to sink your teeth in, this is it.

Another fabulous read from the amazingly talented Deena Remiel. Just when I didn't think it was possible to love angels more Deena proves me wrong. She bring together two damaged soles, who trust no one but learn to forgive and love. Deena found a way to make the unlovable lovable. Thank you Deena for making believe in angels and knowing they are out there watching over us.

Elixxir

4.5 out of 5 stars. Great adult content with lots of mystery and action.

Callie hasn't had a glamorous life. She can't even make it through more than three dates with most guys. It may have something to do with living in a sort of witness protection hiding from the people that killed her parents as she hid in the next room twenty years prior. Not only does she have trust issues but she has intimacy issues on top of it. So sarcasm is her weapon of choice when dealing with the world. Unfortunately, after a rough few days on the anniversary of losing her parents, Callie decided to take a little trip down memory lane and even though it seems harmless at the time, it's going to alter her life forever.

Brethren Warrior Nathanael doesn't hide from trouble, he finds it. He didn't plan on finding it in such an enticing package named Callie. Yes, it's a rough start when you are coming to deliver an apology for a buddy walking away without so much as a good bye, but Callie isn't even interested in hearing about it. From the moment Nathan knocks on her door they have to run for her life. For some guys, it's all in the timing. He never thought that telling her that he's supposed to get the Elixxir from her and return it to where it belongs would be one of the easiest thing he would tell her.

This was a great book. It's really all about good verses evil and the two main characters learning to trust each other. They both obviously have secrets they are keeping from each other in the beginning and they have to learn to trust each other and even themselves enough to share these secrets. OF course, it totally helps that they are kicking but and taking no prisoners as they go along. It's not a cut and dry mission and no, they don't just beat the bad guy to the Elixxir, that would be too easy.

Deena has again blown me away with this installment to the Brethren Series. Elixxir revolves around Serena's best friend Callie.

Callie has a past that she has all but forgotten until her curiosity gets the better of her. Now that her past is back to kill her and claim the Elixxir of Life that her father entrusted to her all of those years ago, Callie needs the aide of the Brethen to keep her and her secret safe.

Nathanael shows up at her door step unexpectedly and is thrown for a loop when Cassie takes charge right then and there. He has the undaunting task of seeking out the Elixxir to return to the InBetween and he has a feeling that Calie knows exactly where it is.

With their tempers clashing and hidden agendas in place, will these two survive long enough to keep her and the Elixxir safe or will they end up killing each other? Callie can't help but feel connected to Nathanael because of the secrets he harbours and Nathanael can't help but think Callie is sexy and strong.

With every addition that Deena makes to the Brethren Series, it gets better and better. Full of non-stop action and twists placed perfectly, Elixxir delivers an awesome read and leaves you wanting more of the Brethren

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.... And OMG! Once I was able to start this book I COULD.NOT.PUT.IT.DOWN!

I hadn't read the first two in the series, so I picked them up before I read Elixxir... OH.EM.GEE!

I LOVE Callie! Callie Worthington is one bad ass chick. She is strong and doesn't take anything from anyone. She hasn't has the most easy life and you can tell by the way she takes care of her business. Enter Nathanael.

Oh, wow! Nathanael. He has a few things he hasn't disclosed all of his secrets either... He has one that could change everything. It "blurs the line separating Good from Evil." Nathanael is an immortal Brethren Warrior and must get the Elixxir. Callie has it and then they meet... And I must say there are some mighty big fireworks!

I absolutely love this series. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good paranormal story! This story is solid and the characters are yummy!!!!

This was such an emotionally sweet read I loved Ariana she had been through so much in her life but instead of letting it destroy her she took it on and was so strong and brave. Nathaniel is a damn Greek God and I want to know where I can get an angel like him for myself *sigh*, despite being an angel he had demons of his own that he was struggling with and Ariana was able to help him in his struggles. They are perfect for each other and had to go through quite an ordeal together but neither one gave up on the other which made me fall in love with them both even more. This what yet another fabulous read from Deena Remiel she is such a fabulous story teller and can't wait to read more of her stories and discover more of her fabulous characters!

This book was the best of the series. I did not start off to impressed with the first book of the series. However by the time I read this book I was hooked! This has a strong female protagonist and hero with inner demons, even though he is an Angel. Great Read!
