Each city’s ranking is based on its Glassdoor Job Score, which is determined by weighing four major factors: how easy it is to a job there, how affordable the area is, job satisfaction, and general work-life balance. Glassdoor also includes each city’s median pay, median home value, and the number of current job openings. They also mention some of the jobs with the highest demand in each area. Last year’s top city, Raleigh, has been bumped down to eighth place and replaced by San Jose, where the median base salary is $112,000. No other city on the list comes anywhere close to that.
