'Game of Thrones' character posters tease dead Jon Snow in season 6

HBO releasing 16 "Hall of Faces" character posters to tease new season

Game of Thrones unleashed 16 teaser posters on Wednesday for the upcoming sixth season and the official new key art. All expand on that creepy video tease released last week that showed images of iconic characters, both alive and dead, from the show’s past and present. Each poster has the character as if their visage was entombed in the House of Black and White’s Hall of Faces (where Arya stole a face in season 5 only to be struck blind as punishment).

First we’ll rundown all the character solo shots, and then we’ll reveal the official season 6 posters. The first is Jon Snow (Kit Harington), of course. I think my favorite is Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Headey) — even in death, she has this glint of a smug smile.

A collection of the faces form the show’s official posters for the season, below. It’s a very unusual choice, as the posters contain a mix of characters both alive and long dead, and hint at how the series will explore the show’s history via Bran Stark’s visions (which EW first reported earlier this year).
