The action-comedy introduces "all-new heroes and villains," putting them into "exciting adventures with many familiar Star Wars characters," according to starwars.com.
The series follows the Freemakers, a scavenger family who "build and sell starships." The youngest member of the Freemaker family discovers a connection to The Force through contact with the Kyber Saber, described as an "ancient artifact."
This force awakening then puts the family on the radar of the Empire, which leads to adventures "told in the whimsically-charged style" the animated LEGO programs are known for.
LEGO Star Wars: The Freemakers is only one of the major LEGO projects hitting the small screen this summer. The program joins LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, coming to pretty much every console and PC, as a brick-themed exploration of the Star Wars universe.
