The 47-year-old admits she was surprised when she heard the news. “I thought, ‘Oh my God.’ There was this sort of very excited, teenage-y kind of moment,” she told the magazine. A self-proclaimed “long-haired girl,” the Friends icon defines beauty in a way that goes well beyond that stunning cover photo and should inspire us all at any age: “Inner confidence. Peace. Kindness. Honesty. A life well-lived,” Aniston, who also earned the title in 2004, said. “Taking on challenges and not feeling shame for things that haven’t gone the way you felt they should have. And not feeling like a failure or allowing people to critique your life and make you feel like you’ve failed at something. That’s just toxic noise.” We’ll next see Aniston in Mother’s Day, out April 29. She’ll also be celebrating her first wedding anniversary with husband Justin Theroux on Aug. 5.
