Deep Silver will release Homefront: The Revolution on May 17 in North America, the publisher announced today. The open-world futuristic shooter, which is bound for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms, will arrive May 20 in other territories.

Xbox One owners can get their hands on Homefront: The Revolution in February, thanks to a console-exclusive beta. Deep Silver says it and Microsoft will be running promotions to give players access to the closed, limited beta. Xbox One owners hoping to get in can sign up at the game's official website.

A new trailer for Homefront: The Revolution released today shows the Korean People's Army occupation of Philadelphia in the year 2029. The video highlights the game's Yellow Zones, which are described as densely populated areas "where civilians live in constant fear."

"A mix of Orwellian police state and ghetto slum, the People are kept under the heel of oppression through permanent surveillance, 24-hour propaganda, and an ever-constant military presence," Deep Silver says of Homefront's Yellow Zones, where Resistance fighters push back against their occupiers.

Homefront: The Revolution is in development at Dambuster Studios. The game was originally being worked on by Crytek UK, but moved to its new home last year. The sequel to 2011's Homefront was originally planned to be released in 2015. For more on Homefront: The Revolution, read Polygon's feature from E3 2014.
