Geekbench test reveals 3GB of RAM for the Motorola Moto G4

A Geekbench benchmark test reveals some specs for the Motorola Moto G4, which is expected to be unveiled on May 17th during an event to be held in both New Delhi and Mexico. The test reveals that a Snapdragon 617 chipset will be under the hood, carrying an octa-core CPU. 3GB of RAM will be inside, and Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed.

Previously rumored specs for the Moto G4 include a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. A 13MP camera should be found on the rear of the phone, with a 5MP front-facing shooter for selfies and video chars. Previous rumors had the Moto G4 carrying 2GB RAM and 16GB of native storage which means that either that rumor is wrong, or the phone that went through the Geekbench test is actually the Motorola Moto G4 Plus.

The premium version of the Moto G4 will offer a fingerprint scanner on the home button, and a 16MP rear camera. Both phones will feature the Quick Charge technology that allows the battery on board to charge up faster than it normally would.

The Moto G4 scored 719 on the single-core test, and a 3076 on the multi-core portion of the benchmark test.
