Police responded to a report of the crash near the Exit 18A off-ramp on Tuesday at approximately 5:17 a.m.

The investigation revealed a Chevrolet Cruze drove off the roadway into a dirt embankment, police said.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Christian D. Suarez, was found to be intoxicated. He was transported and processed at State Police barracks in Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit.

He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.

Suarez was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Mamaroneck Court on June 23.
