      I wish I had ordered this when I ordered my replacement iPhone screen. While the screen included tools, the pentalobe provided wasn't even close to fitting, and the phillips may have also been defective, because it only worked on some of the screws. It stripped one of them too, and forced me to get the screen professionally replaced. Do yourself a favor and order this along with the right-sized Phillips if you are ordering a screen replacement kit. You'll save time and aggravation if the tools they provide don't work. This is a really well-made, precision tool that's going to hold up and not strip your screws - unlike the cheaply made ones that come free with the screen.

      The way to use this screwdriver is to place your forefinger on the red button and exert some downward pressure, while your thumb and fingers perform the rotational motion. The black section is fixed to the blade, the red is not and remains stationary while the rest turns. Gives you perfect control. Sears Craftsman made a similar set of screwdrivers 20 years ago. I liked their finish better, but the red button was tight and didn't rotate freely, as this Wiha does.

      I needed this to change my son's iPhone 5s battery. But it took so long to ship, my son left town, and all I had to test this was an iPhone 4s. Worked perfectly. On an iPhone 5s the screwdriver seemed to sink more positively into the the head.

      The flutes on this are so small, I needed an 8x magnifier to examine them. Clean engineering, to be expected from the made-in-Germany Wiha.

      I can also confirm first-hand that this driver fits the two bottom screws of an iPhone6 as well, as would be expected. It is dimensionally (~0.8mm) the same, per my calipers, as the driver iFixit (and Wikipedia) refers to as "P2". So much for Pentalobe nomenclature standardization. Looking at both under a microscope, the difference is shocking. The Wiha is infinitely more precisely machined and should last far longer, and more importantly less likely to mangle a screw. In a pinch, iFixit drivers will certainly git'er open, but if your job involves opening and closing iPhones all day, Wiha's absolutely the way to go.

      Wiha manufactures some of the best miniature screwdrivers that money can buy. Made in Germany rather than China, they have that Teutonic no-nonsense aspect. This Pentalobe is no exception. It rests pleasantly in the hand, has good tactile feel, and affords precise control. And so far the tip steel has struck the right balance between brittleness and ductility. Steel can come in so many varieties but Wiha got it right, as one can expect from a tool company that has been in business for some 80 years. Unlike several Chinese knockoffs which I already wore out, this Pentalobe will outlast my iPhone 5 by years.

I have purchased multiple Pentalobe screwdrivers in the past and they all seem to strip easily, having had Wiha tools and knowing the quality that they deliver I decided to go ahead and put in my last investment for a pentalobe screwdriver. Works great, shows absolutely no signs of stripping either. It is what you expect from Wiha products. As I am a technician I tend to purchase many tools and I only trust Wiha.
