Awesome power, big step up from a "regular" speedlight. Works great and very reliable. Good news for Sony E-mount users. With the correct accessories, it can be remotely controlled, triggering the flash, controlling the power and achieving HSS, though no TTL as far as I was able. I paired the light with the Godox X1T-S 2.4Ghz TTL trigger and the Commander Transceiver Set for StreakLight and it all works great with both the A6000 and A7II. In non-HSS mode, power can be controlled from 1/128 up to 1/1. In HSS mode, power goes from 1/8 to 1/1. Beyond that constraint, highly recommend this configuration for Sony users looking for power, remote control, reliability and HSS. I took over 300 exposures in one event varying the power from 1/32 to 1/4 and the battery supply barely moved. It's a great product. Will definitely purchase another one, maybe the TTL version this time.
I received the Flashpoint SL-360K1 with high expectations. I ordered it with the blast pack and had very high expectations based on a couple of reviews that I read. Build wise everything seemed solid. Packaging wise, it was great. I took everything out and proceeded to charge the power pack. (It won't function without it) The power pack charged fine, I did everything according to the instructions. It charged in the time stated of 4 hours. After it was fully charged I connected everything according to the instructions and tried to power the pack on. It wouldn't power on.... so it wasn't even possible for me to even test. There is little to no troubleshooting supplied in the manual, I referred to google for possible fixes. I am not sure if this was an isolated issue, but it put a bad taste in my mouth for the quality of this kit.
This is my second Flashpoint light that I've purchased. My only problem with this is that I bought it for a wedding that's happening tomorrow and when I opened the box I discovered that the bulb was burnt out. Now I have to find a replacement bulb, which as it stands, is impossible to find online. Reached out to the seller Adorama which I assume also manufactures these lights because Flashpoint doesn't have a website.
All that aside, when it works it's great... now I probably will have to buy something local to replace this. Not fun. Still waiting to hear back from Adorama.
I love this thing! But, I wish there was like a holder or something to clip the battery pack onto a stand. Perhaps something that can fit with the clip that's already on the pack. It's kind of a pain in the butt to have the battery pack swinging around on your person or if you use the strap to hang off the stand, which swings and bangs against the stand if you're moving it around during a shoot.
Nonetheless, this Flashpoint is one of the best lights I've ever bought! Also, I highly recommend buying the Flashpoint umbrella reflector kit for it. I used my old 32" speedlight octobox to attach to it and it's perfect!
I'm loving this strobe. I will probably get another. I'm glad I went with the 360, lots of light and portable. The strobe has many modes which I did not realize before I bought it. One in particular is the ability to flash multiple times, fully adjustable. Definitely get the splitter cable to connect to both battery terminals, the flash will cycle twice as fast. Another helpful accessory is the clamp to hold it to the stand.
Excellent product, worked better than expected. Decent build quality. I was shooting coffee splashes and with my Sony A7riii shooting at something like 6-10 frames per second, these flashes kept up without a problem. Was at low power of course but maybe had 3 dark frames over 3 days and never charged the battieries!
my blast pack also wouldn't power on. It says to charge for 3 hours initially so I did that. When that didn't work I let it charge for another 8 hours. Still wouldn't power up. After doing research online I see that I'm not the first person to deal with this.
