Now, on the eve of the release of her debut album, singer-songwriter-producer Elizabeth Rose has announced a series of late night discotheques events, featuring her favourite local DJs and her own live midnight set. Sure to be fun.

What’s your earliest musical memory?

Sneaking into my brother’s room when he was out and dancing around to Feeling Hot Hot Hot by the Merrymen on full blast, maybe age six.

What’s the piece of music most likely to be stuck in your head for hours?

I always seem to be singing Kissing You by Des’ree in the shower

Des’ree’s Kissing You, the love theme from Romeo & Juliet

What’s your favourite film clip and why?

Maybe Water Me by FKA Twigs. It’s so beautiful and such a simple concept.

What’s your guaranteed old school floor filler?

112’s Dance With Me

What’s your favourite dance venue and why?

Probably Sydney’s GoodGod because I love how dark and dungeony it is, and it has a great vibe.

What does success look like to you?

Extreme happiness in your work and love and support from your fans and those closest to you.

When are you happiest and why?

When I play a packed live show. The adrenalin I get from that is so addictive.

Who do you admire most and why?

My boyfriend. He works harder on his music than anyone I know and doesn’t complain.

The secret to a good collaboration is...

Being on the same page. And jokes, lots of jokes.

What are your on-tour essentials?

Colourful socks, my pillow and lots of bottles of water.

What’s guaranteed to make you laugh and why?

Seinfeld. Because, Seinfeld.

If you could go back in time, where would you go and why?

I would go back to a really great psychic reading I had done in 2009 and see if she was correct about how things panned out because I lost the tape recording of it.

What’s your favourite thing about Sydney?

Our gorgeous beaches and harbour. It really is the best city in Australia by far.

Elizabeth Rose’s Discotheque tour is at Sydney’s Civic Hotel on 27 March, Melbourne’s Hugs & Kisses in Melbourne on 2 April and Brightside in Brisbane on 5 April
