JUMPING INTO DIGITAL: Amazon has poached its latest fashion hire from Vogue. Caroline Palmer joined Amazon Fashion this week as its new director of editorial and social, where she will be in charge of driving which clothing, footwear and accessories trends populate the site and its corresponding social platforms. “I look forward to defining how we communicate our point of view and bring even more value to Amazon Fashion’s large audience of 35 million customers,” said Palmer, who spent seven years as editor of Vogue.com before making the jump to the e-commerce giant. Amazon is aggressively pursuing the fashion space, one of its fastest growing categories, and Palmer has a “track record of launching digital platforms [and] creating and executing editorial content,” according to Jennie Perry, Amazon Fashion chief marketing officer.
