The 20 Movies We'll Wait in the Cold to See at Sundance

The Sundance Film Festival is a wonderful celebration of nearly every kind of film imaginable. It's also set in Park City, Utah, which—although stunningly beautiful—is also really damn cold. Here are the films we're willing to wait in the cold to see.

The Sundance Film Festival is a wonderful celebration of nearly every kind of film imaginable. It's also set in Park City, Utah, which—although stunningly beautiful—is really damn cold. When getting into a screening means shuffling through snow and waiting in line outside, only the most devoted film buffs have the constitution to stick it out.

But Sundance—the unofficial kick-off to the film festival year—is worth it. In the last few years it has been the place where future indie darlings like Beasts of the Southern Wild, Fruitvale Station, and this year's slow-burn hit Whiplash got their start. There will undoubtedly be more stand-out movies this year, but of the 118 feature films being screened over the festival's 11 days, picking which films to see is almost as hard as trekking through the snow to get to them.

That's OK. We're made of tough stuff; and when the (amazing-looking) line-up includes movies about a love triangle between the last three people on Earth and something called Turbo Kid, we know it's worth the effort. (The struggle is real, though.) Here are the movies we're most excited to see—aka the movies we're most willing to brave the frigid temps for—at this year's Sundance.
