Roads going to Malacañang closed for Pope's courtesy call on PNoy

At least two roads and one bridge leading to Malacañang was closed to traffic at 6 a.m., the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino told GMA News' Unang Hirit program that the road closures involve Osmeña Boulevard, J.P. Laurel Street and Nagtahan Bridge.

Pope Francis is to make a courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III at the Palace before going to Manila Cathedral to lead a Mass, and to the Mall of Asia to meet with families.

Meanwhile, Tolentino thanked the public for a peaceful welcome for the Pope Thursday evening.

"Salamat po sa disiplina ng publiko," he said.  — Joel Locsin/ELR, GMA News
