Just a short ficlet so far.Title is taking from a Phoebe Bridgers song i absolutely love. The idea is to set the chapters mostly in December - which fits to Jingle Bells, the wedding etc.

Connor deserved the punch in the face he received. He wanted it. He killed Wes; he deserved to be the one in that hospital bed but instead Connor had to live with the guilt of what he did. Michaela seemed to agree, being more upset by Asher punching someone than by the fact that someone was Connor.

Michaela was trying so hard to be okay but Asher, the idiot who had invited Trishelle to Michaela’s home, was now hitting Connor repeatedly. Michaela could remember being the one on the other end of an angry man’s fist, breaking up fights over and over and she was supposed to be an adult. This wasn’t supposed to be her life anymore.
