Benhur Luy: Senator Loi is ‘Inay,’ Pauline is ‘Kris Yen’

Pork barrel scam whistleblower Benhur Luy took the witness stand on Monday and linked former First Lady and former Senator Luis "Loi" Ejercito to the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam, adding that the alleged mastermind Janet Lim Napoles even referred to her as "Inay."

Luy also revealed that Estrada’s deputy chief of staff Pauline Labayen was known as “Kris Yen.” Labayen, who also faces plunder charges and remains at large, is one of Estrada’s middlemen, according to Luy.

“Paborito niya po kasi si Kris Aquino,” Luy said, explaining Labayen’s code name.

In his direct testimony during the bail hearing of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, the former Napoles employee turned state witness revealed more code names used in the controversial scam, including one for Ejercito, Estrada’s mother.

“Inay” was the codename used for the former senator, to distinguish her from her son, Estrada, who was earlier given the codename “Anak.” Other codenames attributed to Estrada include “Sexy” and “Cong. Biazon.”

During his testimony, Luy added Ejercito was a "client" of Napoles.

Ejercito has denied Luy’s claims, saying she never transacted with Luy, or even knew him, when she was senator.

For his part, Estrada noted he wasn’t aware of his mother’s transactions when she was senator.

“Matagal na niyang dinamay, nabanggit niya ang pangalan ng nanay ko. Siguro kaya niya binanggit ang pangalan ng nanay ko, also because of the endorsement letter that maybe she signed, when I was not yet a senator at that time,” he said in an interview with reporters. —NB, GMA News
