Liverpool band MiC LOWRY have received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the ADHD Foundation for their continued support of the charity.

MOBO Unsung 2014 finalists MiC LOWRY are a five-piece male vocal group who supported American supergroup Boys II Men on their recent tour.

After gaining their award at the special ceremony, the Toxteth band entertained the crowds, performing their latest release, Count on You.

CEO of the ADHD Foundation, Dr Tony Lloyd, said: “The boys have been supporters of the ADHD Foundation and are a fantastic example to young people, demonstrating how hard work, commitment and a passion for what they do has resulted in a rapid rise to fame.

“We wish them every success on their forthcoming album.”

The ADHD Foundation’s annual ‘Young People, Family and Volunteer Awards Annual General Meeting’ evening was held at Liverpool City College.

More than 150 parents and service users, trustees of the charity and the youth board of trustees attended the awards, along with representatives from the police and Commissioners Office.

The evening gave delegates and service users an opportunity to meet many children and families and to hear about their achievements.

Awards were presented to more than 40 young people and children.

Guests were also entertained by dancers from MD Productions and a drama performance from a group of young people from Rainhill High School.

Dr Lloyd said: “Each year we celebrate the achievements of all the families who use our service.

“It is the best attended AGM of any charity in the north west, with over 100 service users attending every year for the past three years.

“Above all, it is a celebration of participation that places service users at the centre of what we do.”

The board of trustees will be expanded from 16 to 22 members. More details at www.adhdfoundation.org.uk
