Suspect claims ability to clear US Embassy database of visa applicants’ ‘red flags’

A confessed forger of documents on Thursday claimed to have the ability to hack into the US Embassy's computer systems so he could clear his clients' red flags and pave the way for the much-coveted approval of US visa applications.

A report on GMA News "24 Oras" said the suspect, who said he could hasten the interview schedule of his visa applicants, claimed to have successfully facilitated the US travel of six individuals over the past four months.

“Nagsosorry ako sa US embassy sa pag assist ko ng ganoong paraan. There is a system flaw in the process and I'm very much willing to help so that the security will be stiffer, tighter and the embassy won't have these kinds of problems,” said John Dandan, who was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation and members of the US Department of Homeland Security.

NBI Anti Fraud Division Chief Atty. Cesar Bacani said Dandan charged P250,000 per client.

“Nadiskubre ng US Embassy na peke 'yung mga dokumento so nakipag coordinate sila sa NBI para magkainvestigation,” Bacani said.

Seized from the suspect were fake documents including certificates of employment and training invitations from American multinational companies.

Other items confiscated from the suspect were a sports car bearing a No. 8 license plate and a fake driver's license meant to make it appear that he's the relative of a top government official.
