Free Classes for Aspiring Authors to be Held at Warner Library

Join up at next meeting: Saturday, December 13 at 11 a.m.

Writers’ Forum is inviting fledgling authors to join its ranks on Saturday morning, December 13, 2014, at the Warner Library in Tarrytown.

“A unique thing about Writers’ Forum is that it is open and free to the public — anyone who wants to write can find a home with us,” said Lyn Halper, founder and coordinator of the new group.

In-coming members are taught the elements of fiction, creative non-fiction, memoir, and young-adult novel writing. At many meetings, passages from the work of the members are critiqued by the group. “It’s exciting to see manuscripts develop from barely sketched outlines to fully nuanced pieces,” said Halper.
