The former Fifa presidency candidate has launched a controversial idea to help the Serie A giants become competitive once more. Controversial agent Mino Raiola has advised AC Milan and Inter to consider joining forces if they want to be able to compete with the big guns in Europe again.

The representative of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli among others feels the Serie A giants currently lack the financial resources to challenge for top honours in Europe and believes merging would give them the best chance of returning to the top.

"If AC Milan and Inter want to be able to compete with the very best again, they should consider a merger," Raiola told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"They were the richest clubs in the world at some stage, but are now struggling to do anything without their rich owners. [Milan CEO Adriano] Galliani complains to me about the Arabians, but he forgets they have been acting like the rich Arabians for 20 years with Berlusconi.

"The arrival of some rich Chinese will not help them forward either. The fans will continue to see two 'half' teams. But if both teams were to merge, you would have one club with a turnover of €320 million rather than two clubs with a turnover of €160m.

"Like Paris Saint-Germain are considering getting rid of the Saint-Germain addition to become FC Paris, Milan should have one club FC Milan that is recognisable across the world."

Inter and Milan have both been struggling in Serie A this term and currently sit joint 10th in the table with 26 points from 20 games.

It would be easier to merge both Koreas than to merge this two teams... simple as that.

It would be nice to see the Milan clubs return to the peak of World Football. However, I believe that they will do so in time. If Juventus can return from Serie B, then so can the Milan clubs. No need for them to merge.

Not gonna happen, anyway its not like they have Leeds United situation, its not even a decade crisis, they are still both attractive but have some management problems, they should get rid of their directors and things could go better imo.

Raiola always being controversial. What does he care anyways? he just wants to hit the front-page in the Italian newspapers. He also claims that Pogba is worth £1.5billion.

He supposedly told a young Zlatan to fuck off before he became his agent. Zlatan says he's a nice guy though and we all know that if Zlatan says something then it's got to be true because Zlatan knows shit about stuff.

Considering the rivalry and history they have, they will never merge. The fans, specially the Ultra's from both teams would never accept it. AND, even if you merged both teams, their starting 11 wouldn't be half as good as Madrid's, Chelsea's, Barca's, Bayern's, City's, Man U's, etc.
