How to win free Starbucks for life (30 years)

Starbucks for Life kicks off on Dec. 2.

It is Starbuck's equivalent to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's golden ticket.

Ten U.S. customers, three in Canada and one in the U.K. are eligible to win Starbucks for Life starting Dec. 2.

The estimated value of the offer is $54,000.

Only 14 Ultimate Starbucks cards have been made. The retail value of each card is $5,000 and is made of 10K hammered gold, according to the coffee giant. The winner's name will also be engraved on the card.

If you read the fine print on the company's website, "for life" means a daily credit for 30 years for one free food or beverage item at participating stores.

So, if you are younger, you won't be able to get your latte "for life" ...just three decades of it.

In case you aren't familiar with the golden ticket comparison, in the novel Willy Wonka hides five golden tickets in his famous Wonka Bars. The children who find them are given a lifetime supply of chocolate.

Customers are asked to use a Starbucks gift card or mobile app through January 5 for the chance to win prizes.

Once you pay, enter the 22-digit sweepstakes code from your receipt online at starbucks.com/play and see which of the 482,000 instant prizes you may receive through the Starbucks® It's a Wonderful Card Ultimate Giveaway program.

The offer starts Dec. 2 and runs until January 5.

"This is the first time we have ever offered customers something of this magnitude and what better way than to anchor it with our renowned Starbucks Card program," said Sharon Rothstein, Starbucks executive vice president and global chief marketing officer, in a statement earlier.
