    This game is yet another great game within the series. After playing one level, I was automatically hooked.
    The background is absolutely gorgeous, though the character models could use some work. They don't look like what you'd expect with the background and such. The music is calming and beautiful, but that's expected, because SEGA made it, of course. There are multiple acts within zones, and there are boss fights every now and then. You can easily complete the early stages under a minute, giving it an even bigger addiction value. There are multiple characters you can get to play as within the game if you want some variety. From what I can remember, you can get Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Silver, Rouge, and Blaze. Forgive me if I forgot a few. It's actually useful to buy and play as different characters, because they all have different abilities they can use to get through the stages. Anyway, as soon as I opened the app it had said "You've completed the global challenge. You can now play as Blaze." Though I'm not complaining, I don't know why this happened. Because I got her immediately, I don't know if you are able to actually buy her.

    Sonic Jump is one of the most addictive games I've ever played. Uncharacteristic of most Sonic the Hedgehog games, there is no running in this game; instead you simply jump from one platform to the next, climbing ever higher until you reach the top or die trying. Jumping is automatic; you move Sonic left or right and perform double jumps manually. On the Kindle Fire HD, this is accomplished by tilting and tapping the screen respectively. Just be sure to have the Kindle's screen set to auto-rotate or else you won't be able to move Sonic at all.

    There are two game modes included: In Story mode, you play a variety of acts in several zones taken from previous Sonic the Hedgehog games; in Arcade mode, you climb a randomly generated board higher and higher with no end in sight until you die. There are plenty of obstacles to overcome and enemies to either kill or avoid. Both modes are challenging, although Arcade mode can be a pain with the myriad of spike platforms that seem to spawn frequently.

    Sonic Jump is a challenging and addictive game that will melt the hours away as you play over and over again. With the reduced permissions, lots of achievements, gorgeous graphics, and consistently smooth graphics, this game is a must-have for any Sonic the Hedgehog enthusiast.

    It's actually my kid who loves this game app. He's 6 years old and he absolutely loves everything about Sonic the Hedgehog. When he first saw this game, he's not impressed because he's accustomed to seeing Sonic run at hyperspeed, not moving fast vertically. But when he got hooked on it, he can't stop exploring what the game has to offer.

    Graphics are awesome, giving justice to the Kindle Fire's HD capability. The challenges are very engaging and uses the Kindle's accelerometer by tilting so Sonic can jump from side-to-side. It gets a bit harder as the player goes up in skill, thereby keeping them challenged.

    Can't think of anything right now that may improve this app further but once we stumble upon something I'll definitely update this review.

    Recommended for 6-year olds and above.

    I had this game for my kindle fire hd and I loved it. It was probably one of my top 5 favorites. I've been a Sonic fan since I was kid. There have been a lot good sonic games but also alot of mediocre to poor sonic games. This is one of the better ones. Sonic with a change of direction. Literally. I think this formula works well. It's different but still the same and that's a good thing. Nostalgia runs pretty high with this game. The bad things is that on my kindle fire hdx it is defective. The background is blacked out. This is bad. Very bad it makes it unplayable for me. I hope they fix this soon.I'm hopeful but doubtful.

    I got a kindle for my birthday last year, and quickly saw the difference between the kindle and the I-pad.... mainly the I-pad had far cooler apps.

    So when I heard there was two different sonic games available for download, i immeadetly searced for them, only to find out that it was only for apple devices!

    Being the hardcaore sonic fan i am I almost went out and bought an ipad just to play these games, then I found out that Sonic Jump had just been made available for the Kindle! Instanst Download!

    So how does the game hold up? It's actually very fun! I didn't expect much from a downloadable game, but this one delievered! The gameplay mechanics are so simple my children can play, and it's not too easy were I can get bored easily. That being said SOME of the challenges are pretty hard, and can frusterate after awhile. It takes way too long to unlock other characters and it's kinda short, I just bought it this week and already I'm almost done with everything it has to offer at the moment.

    Am I sorry I spent my money on this? No I am not! It's a good game and quite addicting! If your A Sonic fan, defititly check this one out!
