Bioware: Mass Effect remastered for Xbox One and PS4 hinted as fans wait for ME4 news

BIOWARE general manager Aaryn Flynn has hinted a new Mass Effect remastered trilogy is being planned for the PS4 and Xbox One.

The Mass Effect series could be heading to the Xbox One and PS4

Flynn was gathering suggestions for a possible upgraded next-gen instalment of the series on NeoGAF, asking fans for their input on what they would like to see included.

Writing on the forums, the Bioware exec explained: "The thing I'd love to hear from people is what you'd like to have in such an experience. For me (personal opinion, and based on what people have told me many times before):

  • 1080p
  • 60 fps
  • High res textures, especially on ME1
  • Some shader improvements commensurate with newer GPUs
  • All the DLC
  • "Seamless experience" - the adventures flow into each other without having to go back to save import, menu screens, etc.

Bear in mind this is a "wish list" at this point...

Flynn then followed up the Q&A by suggesting it was title that was likely to be planned for the future, rather than just a possible idea.

He tweeted: "Unfortunately we have no news about the Mass Effect Trilogy coming to new consoles.

"When we do we'll share ASAP."

The news came on the eve of this year's N7 Day, a celebration of the series that has included new reveals of future ME titles.

The tale of Commander Shepherd was wrapped up in the ME3 but fans have been speculating over what could feature in the fourth instalment.

The official Mass Effect Twitter page posted a message from the developers stating that N7 day would be celebrated on Friday, November 7 at 10AM PST featuring an 'N7 day developer roundtable.’

This event in the past has involved in-game events and special offers, but Flynn gave fans hope a new announcement could be on its way after replying to a question on Twitter.

After being asked by journalists whether there could be some fresh news on Friday, Flynn replied: "We shall see..."

Last year's N7 celebrations saw some sneak peeks shared about the future of the Mass Effect brand, so fans are hopeful the team could follow suit in 2014.
