Nikon has been extremely diligent on addressing and informing consumers about the flare issue affecting a handful of D750 cameras. Today, they make good on previous promises, officially releasing detailed instructions for D750 users who are looking to correct the issue.

In the statement, Nikon instructs D750 owners to verify their camera’s serial number via a dedicated website. Those whose serial numbers show their camera is affected will be provided detailed instructions on how to fix the camera through the nearest Nikon service center.

Nikon further notes in the statement that some cameras have already been fixed, stating:

Some models identified by serial number as affected by the flare problem may have already been fixed - this is indicated by a black dot inside the tripod socket.
