VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A Virginia Beach man will spend the next seven years in prison and be banned from driving for 20 years after racking up at least 25 DUI arrests in Virginia, Alabama and Georgia.
WVEC-TV reports that a judge sentenced 39-year-old Tracy Michael Decker on Tuesday.
Decker spent more than four years in a Virginia prison after a 2006 arrest on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel in which his blood alcohol content was .28, he had an open container of alcohol and two 4-year-old children in the vehicle who were not in safety seats. Decker was released from prison in 2010, but he was arrested for DUI in Alabama four times within eight months.
He was sentenced in Virginia because those new arrests violated the conditions of his release. Several of his arrests are from the Etowah and Calhoun counties area of Alabama.
