Colin Farrell is Back as Oz in Max's 'The Penguin' Series Teaser Trailer

The Penguin Teaser Trailer

"Can you imagine to be remembered like that?" Max has unveiled the first real teaser trailer for the spin-off series The Penguin, set to debut in the fall this year. This streaming series will follow the transformation of Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot from a disfigured nobody to the noted Gotham gangster, after the events of The Batman movie. Academy Award nominee Colin Farrell returns from The Batman (loved him in it) as Oz, bringing us his full transformation into the infamous DC Comics villain who gives Batman quite a fright. The first episodes are being directed by Craig Zobel (of Compliance, Z for Zachariah, The Hunt) who seems like a perfect choice for this. We featured an early production teaser last year. The full ensemble cast also has Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Clancy Brown, Michael Zegen, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Deirdre O'Connell, James Madio, Scott Cohen, Theo Rossi, Carmen Ejogo, and François Chau. Ohhhhhhh this looks SO damn good. What a killer teaser. Perfect setup, the way it all plays out, his dialogue, it's all so dark. This is going to be worth the wait. Check it out + stay tuned for more.

Wicked Fun Trans DC Parody 'The People's Joker' Official Trailer Drop

The People's Joker Trailer

"Now you must journey inside yourself…" It's here! Finally! Altered Innocence has revealed the official trailer for a controversial, revolutionary, one-of-a-kind film called The People's Joker. This premiered at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival a few years ago and after earning tons of buzz at the fest, Warner Bros and DC tried to shut it down and stop anyone from watching it (due to copyright claims). But they beat the system! Now it's finally getting a proper theatrical release this April. An aspiring clown grappling with her gender identity combats a fascistic caped crusader. The People's Joker is a trans twist on DC's characters, starring Vera Drew as a new clown of mayhem called Joker the Harlequin. Vats of feminizing chemicals, sexy cartoon interludes, scarecrow psychiatrists, CGI Lorne Michaels, and psychedelic gender dysphoria all play supporting roles. Made by Vera Drew and using her own life experiences as a basis for the film, The People's Joker is a deeply personal journey that's as much documentary as it is parody. Also starring Lynn Downey, Nathan Faustyn, and Kane Distler as Mister J; cameos from Tim Heidecker, Bob Odenkirk, Maria Bamford, & Scott Aukerman. Looks like it might be brilliant! Tons of extra bonkers footage! Have fun.

Watch: 'Creating the Penguin for Batman Returns' Stan Winston Video

Creating the Penguin for Batman Returns

"Why is there always someone who brings eggs and tomatoes to a speech?" Who remembers this iconic line? One of the most strikingly strange character designs ever to grace the big screen was The Penguin in Tim Burton's 1992 sequel Batman Returns (his successful follow up to 1989's Batman). This 90s comic book movie starred Danny DeVito as the fish eatin', wise crackin' DC villain - one of the most disgusting characters that haunted me when I was growing up. Still gives me the willies. The legendary Stan Winston and his team at Stan Winston Studio were hired to create a number of unique special effects for Batman Returns, having worked with Tim Burton before, with a focus on The Penguin. Winston is one of the best in the business, and his work is still impressive. Now 31 years later, the Stan Winston School of Character Arts website has posted a fascinating making of look back at the process of designing, creating, and perfecting the Oswald Cobblepot character. This is for all the movie geeks who enjoy getting a peek behind-the-scenes.

Tickets Promo Trailer for James Wan's 'Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom'

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Trailer

"He needs us, we're the end of the bloodline." "No we're not." Warner Bros has unveiled another official promo trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, to announce that tickets are now on sale one month ahead of the opening. Aquaman 2 is still set for a theatrical release worldwide around December 22nd, with hopes that it will be the big holiday hit this season. Director James Wan and Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa—along with Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman—return in the sequel to the highest-grossing DC film. Momoa must balance his duties as both the King of Atlantis and a new father; Wilson is Orm, Aquaman's half-brother and his nemesis, who must step into a new role as his brother's reluctant ally; Heard is Mera, Atlantis' Queen and mother of the heir to the throne; Yahya is Black Manta, committed more than ever to avenge his father's death by destroying Aquaman, his family and Atlantis; and Kidman as Atlanna, a fierce leader and mother with the heart of a warrior. Also reprising their roles again are Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin. Newcomers are Jani Zhao and Pilou Asbæk. This looks like one big, messy CGI-fest. Anyone want to go?

Merry Little Batman Trailer

"I have to show Dad I can handle myself! I can do this – I'm saving Christmas!" Prime Video has revealed an official trailer for an animated holiday special (I'd happily watch more!!) called Merry Little Batman, made by Warner Bros Animation. Set for a streaming debut on Prime Video this December for everyone to watch during the holidays this year. This looks like so much absurd fun! Kooky and wacky and wholesome. This Christmas, Damian Wayne wants to be a Super Hero like his dad—the one and only Batman. When Damian is left home alone while Batman takes on Gotham's worst Super-Villains on Christmas Eve, he stumbles upon a villainous plot to steal Christmas and leaps at the chance to save the day. With the voices of Luke Wilson as Batman, Yonas Kibreab as Damian, David Hornsby as Joker, and James Cromwell as Alfred. This looks kind of amazing?! Are you kidding me?! Funky creative animation style & characters, a fun story with Batman & son, hilarious jokes, and plenty much more going on. This seems like a must watch.

Exciting Final Trailer for DC's 'Blue Beetle' Movie with Xolo Maridueña

Blue Beetle Trailer #2

"We are going to change the world with the power of the scarab." Warner Bros & DC have unveiled a final official trailer for Blue Beetle, a comic book movie about a Mexican teenage superhero. Set to hit theaters in August at the end of the summer. This is an action-packed trailer, with even more vibrant footage than the first trailer from a few months ago. A Mexican teenager finds an alien Blue Beetle that gives him super-powered armor and weapons. The movie tells the origin story of Jaime Reyes, who learns what it means to become the "Blue Beetle" and protect the world. The DC movie stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes, a teen who gains superpowers when an alien scarab grafts onto him, forming a powerful exoskeleton around his body. The cast includes Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Trujillo, & Susan Sarandon. It's like Iron Man mashed up with Green Lantern and a symbiote like Venom. At least the Blue Beetle suit VFX look good. As for the rest?
