Default Keep your towrope handy

A tow rope is essential for any scale run and finding somewhere to keep them has always been a pain . Me and a mate put our heads together and came up with this tip, it works a treat !

I like to use fishing treble hooks for towing , they are tough as hell and cheap. I cut 2 hooks off and knock the point off the third one and smooth it off. I always look for a really bright colour cord to use as a towrope so they stand out in the dirt. I found the magnets out of a kids toy ( magnetics ) , they are small and really strong.

I double the cord over and cover the part that will under the heatshrink with super glue. this stiffens up the cord and stops it pulling thru the hook.
A larger bit of heat shrink is needed to hold the magnet on the hook and its done.

This one is about 600mm and is a pretty useful size and only needs one hand to sling it around your neck and to take it off to use it . You'll never be fiddling around trying to untie one again !

That's a good idea , But i thought you could only use the scale recovery stuff that was on your rig at the beginning of the comp.

Yep everyone has their rules, there's no comps around here so they just get used on social outings.
The G6 guys were pretty casual about what was used tho, they suggested using lanyards.
