Katonah Chamber of Commerce Seeks Donations for Holiday Lights

The group is hoping to raise $7,500 and as of Nov. 6, which is when the page was created, it has already raised $250.

The Katonah Chamber of Commerce, which annually organizes and pays for the village’s holiday lights display, has turned to GoFundMe for a little help this year.

On the crowdfunding website, the group has put up a page reaching out to the community for donations for the display, which includes the big tree lights at St. Luke’s, the menorah lights, and the tree lights strung along Katonah Avenue and The Parkway.

“This year, we are aksing for the community’s help to make sure we can afford to do it all!” the chamber wrote. “The bill for the holiday season is steep — we pay for the lights, the labor to string those lights, help from the police and highway department to organize the tree lighting event, and of the course the electricity bill to keep the light lights on for the whole season. This year, we need to replace many of our light strings and we need to update the electrical outlets and cords.”
