Assassin’s Creed Unity PC Performance Analysis

Ubisoft has been notorious amongst gamers for their bad PC ports, something I’m going to get into detail with this AC Unity benchmark performance article.

Heres my analysis, It runs like SHIT!!!!

Benchmarks - 10fps -> 30fps with lots of stutter
Conclusion - Wait for performance patch

nthstew3454d ago

the game just ran fine on my rig
i7 3820, 16GB ram and Gtx 970 i got average 50-60 fps on 1080p i barely got glitches after the 1.2 patch..

brich2333454d ago (Edited 3454d ago )

Its so unoptimized for my Amd card, even if I put it at 720p and all low settings it runs at 10fps with lag, I think Nvidia cards are running this game just fine.

mkis0073454d ago

well that is a pretty good rig lol, sometimes brute force works

placiid3454d ago

Well no shit its a 970 and its nvidia

decrypt3454d ago (Edited 3454d ago )

Game runs fine on my rig too, 1920*1080 getting 80 - 120fps.

I7 3930k oced to 5ghz
GTX 780 Tri sli.

I need to make some adjustments to run this game in eyefinity, which currently gets me 30-40fps but has stutters perhaps a RAM Issue.

I suppose a single GTX 780 should pull 40 - 60fps.

starchild3454d ago (Edited 3454d ago )

Well, I have a weaker rig and it still runs great for me. I have a GTX 770 with i5 2500k and I choose to cap it at 30fps and it's very solid. It also looks absolutely amazing. I'd say it's the best looking game I have played. Ryse on PC is close though.

And I agree with you that after the 1.2 patch I notice far fewer glitches. I honestly haven't had any significant issues at all; no crashes, no bugs that forced me to restart, no loss of saves, not even any bugs that affected my gameplay at all. I'm quite happy with the game. I was playing it for a few hours just a while ago.

AnvilNext engine is shit and should be retired.

Neo_Zeed3453d ago

It's funny that people would even try to defend Anvil and it's variants. It worked at one time but all engines get old and dated. The sooner they scrap it... the sooner they can build a better one with GPGPU in mind.

Ubitrash game plays like shit....To be honest I haven't even played ACUnity. I'm just here to to hate because I'm a bandwagoner. Peace out!

starchild3454d ago (Edited 3454d ago )

I like that sarcasm. :)

It's so true though. There has been a bandwagon against this game since way before it even came out.

I would wager large sums of money that many of the people hating on the game haven't even played it.

Not saying that some of the complaints aren't legitimate, because they are. The framerate apparently has some issues on consoles. The game does have some glitches. And there are some issues for AMD users on PC too.

I just think a lot of it gets way overblown and exaggerated.

I've talked to lots of console players who own the game and have told me that while it does have some framerate drops they aren't that big of a deal and the game is still entirely playable and enjoyable.

The glitches in my experience are mostly NPC glitches in terms of their movement and pathfinding and they have never hindered or even dampened my enjoyment to any real degree.

AMD graphics cards and processors don't run this game as well as Nvidia and Intel hardware, which makes a pretty demanding game even more demanding, but there are still plenty of AMD users on neogaf reporting solid performance who are enjoying the game on their rigs.

Mykky3453d ago (Edited 3453d ago )

Totally agree, the game obviously has its problems but I have honestly played games with more glitches and bugs. I have not encountered a single bug that has hindered my experience. Five of my friends also is playing without any problems. (We are all playing on PS4)

I actually feel bad for the developers when I'm playing the game. There is such a tremendous amount of detail in the world and I can clearly see that the ambition for the game is enormous. It's as if gamers today only think about fps, graphics and resolution and not actually the game itself.

Amd fx 8350 oc 4700
Gtx 780 sc
8 gig ram
Windows 8.1
Txaa and everything set at ultra exept texture at high everything run fine perfectly playable.
One fix i have found is to set v-sync off in game settings and use adaptive in nvidia control panel.

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Shaz from GL writes: "Assassin’s Creed Unity is looked at as one of the worst in Ubisoft’s iconic franchise. But playing it nearly 10 years later reveals it may just be the best"

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate

Can We Finally Admit Assassin's Creed 3 Deserves an Apology?

AC3 was released during a turbulent transition period for Ubisoft and the Assassin's Creed series. It ventured into uncharted territory, narratively and mechanically, which caused it to receive mixed reviews. At its core, though, it's a damn good stealth game.

Nope, I hated 3, connar was bland, literally the most flat character in the entire game. Not to mention to myriad of bugs, camera issues, and that annoying thing where he automatically ditches his weapon you payed for for the sake of a cool finishing move forcing you to trek back to your base after almost every encounter just to re-equip your own weapon. It just didn't work as fluidly as the others like 2 and 4

Samonuske202d ago

The series peaked at AC3 for me. It’s been my favourite in the series. Connor will always be one of my favourite video game protagonists.

Becuzisaid202d ago

No. Game was BORING. Connor was really dull. Environments, while impressive, because of the geographic location and time period were not really exciting to be in. I would love some kind of game set in there colonial American time period, but a game like AC that back then centered around parkour and vertical traversal really didn't fit those environments.

-Foxtrot202d ago

Nope

There was a lot of issues but mine is how they handled the war

They told us Connor was not going to get involved, that the war was more of a background setting for the real story and it wasn’t going to be one sided

They lied, even the cinematic E3 trailer showed Connor emerge from the Colonist side and slaughter the red coats to get to his target, inspiring the Colonists to fight back

I just thought it would have made more sense lore wise that the red coats were mostly compiled of Assassins fighting the Colonist templars who wanted to take the new world for themselves.

Since the Red coats lost the war, it would then explain how the Templars started to gain the upper hand and how on the future the assassins were mostly killed off and the Templar’s had pretty much taken over everything.

Instead it just felt like they didn’t want to p*** off the American audience

Even Haytham was cool, he should have been an Assassin through and through and should have been the main lead.

toxic-inferno202d ago

The game even seems to lack the humour of the other games. It almost seems as though the idea of even slightly making fun of American history wouldn't be acceptable.

-Foxtrot201d ago

Exactly

It just felt super safe

“Better not make the colonists look super bad incase people boycott our game”

jeromeface201d ago

someone missed the whole point

-Foxtrot201d ago

There was literally no point

What I've just said above would at least make sense lore wise and why the Assassins start to loose their war, die off and how the Templars are in control in the future of almost everything....what they did was just, pointless

CrimsonWing69202d ago

I’m one one of those weird people that liked Ass Creed 3, but to be fair I never got around to finishing it.
