Just an ordinary terraced house in Oxford right? Wrong. Very wrong (Picture: Zoopla)

Looks like a totally normal house for rent in Oxford, right? Well, you couldn’t be more wrong.

The terraced property, offered to the market by local estate agents Andrews and listed on Zoopla and Rightmove, is available for £2,250 per month. Still fairly normal, yes?

It is based in the centrally-located Headington area of the university city and boasts modern interiors, three bedrooms (all with en-suites) and has been billed as suitable for families. Nothing outrageous yet.

This is the spacious (totally normal) living room:

Here’s one of the very standard but still nice-looking bedrooms:

The kitchen is fine, ordinary and boasts all mod cons:

And the dining area is well decorated, well lit and homely:

IT HAS A SHARK COMING OUT OF THE ROOF.

Yes. A shark.

So it turns out that if you’re a fan of Jaws, or perhaps even Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, then this might be your dream home.

Apart from a picture of the outside showing the shark, the listing stops short of mentioning it – and also whether the fibreglass artwork could be responsible for the nightmares of the children living inside.

The shark has been at the house since 1986 and was the brainchild of owner Bill Heine, who previously said that it represents ‘someone feeling totally impotent and ripping a hole in their roof out of a sense of impotence and anger and desperation. It is saying something about CND, nuclear power, Chernobyl and Nagasaki’.
