TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The village of Tarrytown has hired New York Leak Detection to survey the village for leaks in the water distribution system.

For the next week to 10 days during daylight and overnight hours a white van with the markings "NYLD" on the sides will be traveling slowly through village streets.

Workers may also be checking the water shutoff valves in the front yards along the curbs.

The workers will not be requesting access to residences.
