Miami’s trendiest hotels reside in South Beach, but the Thompson Miami Beach, opening Nov. 21, adds to the growing number of stylish addresses in the area just north, known as Mid-Beach.

Debuting in time for the influx of art buyers attending Art Basel, Dec. 4 to 7, the 380-room hotel unites three existing towers, formerly apartments, on a campus that includes lush gardens, two swimming pools and a six-treatment-room spa on one of the rooftops.

A 1930’s-vintage Mediterranean revival house, relocated to the property, has been remodeled to host a crudo bar and separate cocktail bar, with indoor and outdoor seating. Michelle Bernstein is the chef at the hotel’s signature Florida-accented restaurant, Seagrape, located in one of the towers.

Management specifically sought local partners, including Ms. Bernstein, the cocktail consultant Julio Cabrera and the designer Ashley Leimer, who created staff uniforms, to lend authenticity to the Thompson. “We’re presenting a real taste of Miami,” the area managing director for the hotel, Brett Orlando, wrote in an email.

Rates start at $349 per night, with a special opening package including two nights, daily breakfast, welcome cocktails and admission for two to the Perez Art Museum Miami for $399 per night, through April 30.
