On first Undas after Yolanda, what did victims’ kin pray for?

As they spent the first Undas (All Saints' and All Souls' Days) after super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), residents of Leyte province on Saturday offered prayers and flowers for their loved ones who perished in the tragedy.

Relatives of fatalities fromn Palo town in Leyte prayed that their departed loved ones would finally be at peace, GMA News' Victoria Tulad reported on GMA News TV's "Balitanghali."

But many of the residents who went to a mass grave in Barangay San Joaquin where 371 victims are buried still could not accept their loved ones' deaths.

Palo was among the areas hit hardest by Yolanda, which left more than 6,000 dead last year.

In Tacloban City, another area hit hard by Yolanda, many residents went to the local cemetery early to spruce the graves of their loved ones.

Some offered food for their dearly departed, while others like Alice Torre even showed bayanihan by having the grave of a neighbor who died in Yolanda's wake cleaned. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
