Tangipahoa Parish officials assessing damage to homes
Officials with the National Weather Service said the tornado that struck Amite on Tuesday afternoon was an EF-2.Survey teams returned to the area Wednesday morning to begin assessing the damage. The tornado struck near Highway 16 and Highway 1054 in Tangipahoa Parish.According to the NWS, the team determined that the tornado was an EF-2. Officials with the National Weather Service said the tornado that struck Amite on Tuesday afternoon was an EF-2.

Survey teams returned to the area Wednesday morning to begin assessing the damage. The tornado struck near Highway 16 and Highway 1054 in Tangipahoa Parish.
