The Kale Cream Pie Shake is Sonic's newest dessert, apparently

Every year, Sonic simultaneously delights milkshake fans and sends the lactose-intolerant into panic attacks with a crop of 25 Summer shakes. The latest slate is almost here, and advance word says the most exciting flavor of 2014 is a Kale Cream Pie Shake.

This buzzy new drink aims to ride the kale trend with a bittersweet blend of real vanilla ice cream, vanilla cream pie mix, and some finely chopped kale, garnished with whipped cream and a cherry. If this is real, fast food as we know it is about to go down a dark, disturbing healthy wormhole. But seeing as today is April Fools' Day, there's a chance it isn't, and we've all been spared the terrifying ripple effect of a kale shake. Either way, Sonic still managed to produce a commercial for this thing, which you can watch below.
