Monica Lewinsky: "I Was a Virgin to Humiliation" Until Bill Clinton Sex Scandal

Monica Lewinsky is silent no longer!

First she spoke out about her '90s sex scandal in Vanity Fair, and now she's going to even further detail as part of a multi-part National Geographic program called The 90s: The Last Great Decade? in her first TV interview since 2003.

"I was the most humiliated woman in the world," she said in a preview from the special excerpted on Today Tuesday. "That was one of the worst days of my life. I was a virgin to humiliation of that level, until that day [Sept. 11, 1998, when details of her alleged relationship with Bill Clinton were publicly released]."

"To have my narrative ripped from me, and turned into the Starr report, and things that were turned over or things they delved out of my computer that I thought were deleted," she goes on. "I mean it was just violation after violation."

The media coverage was "excruciating," she recalls, saying, "To be in the vortex of this media maelstrom was quite alarming, and frightening. And confusing. I think a lot, too, had to do with the fact that I was a woman."

In the special, she reflects on how painful it was "To be called stupid, and a slut, and a bimbo, and ditzy, and to be taken out of context..."

The 90s: The Last Great Decade? premieres this Sunday at 9 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel.
